Chapter 51 - Emergence of Darkness (2/2)

”I wonder if it can help me in cultivating my physiques.” He said.

Taking a deep breath, Wang Lei activated 3th Gate: Purgatory. Right now, his body was that of Peak of Divine Origin while you needed to be in, at least, Divine Soul Peak to open the 4th Gate.

Dark crimson energy started to release from his body as his cultivation kept rising, stopping at the Peak of Divine Origin Realm.

Deep cracks started to form all over his body as if breaking from inside. One could, just by looking at the cracks, tell that his body was being destroyed from inside out. How painful was that? But despite that, there was not even a frown on Wang Lei's face.

He smiled as he said, ”I can maintain it for five minutes before my body would be destroyed. A perfect thing to train my Physique.”

He sat in a crossed leg position and closed his eyes. In his mind, six words emerge, each having indefinite profundities. They were six words from

. He was cultivating Soaring Immortal Physique from the word Pure as his second physique.

Now he was going to start the cultivation of his third physique. Normally, he wouldn't do that and focus on cultivating Soring Physique, but since he could train another physique faster, he thought of doing it first.

As six words were spinning inside his head, Hardness stopped. Two different ruins were released from this word and formed two Dao avatar of Wang Lei. Both having different physiques.

Wang Lei ignored the avatar at right and focused on the left one. It had jade-like skin, deprived of any blemish. His skin looked like the toughest thing to ever exist. One could see different Dao ruins flashing on his body from time to time — containing different mysteries.

It was the Dao avatar with the Indestructible Diamond Immortal Physique. The physique with the strongest defense. One needed to go through horrendous physical training to master it.

This was the physique Wang Lei had chosen as his third physique.

He sat there silently as his body kept on destroyed but this time, different Dao ruins emerged on his body.

After five minutes, his body explodes but soon a new body was formed on the same spot without any damage. The same process kept happening for a month before it finally stopped.

It should haven't gone this long if Wang Lei hasn't, deliberately, stop using any form of energy.

He opened his eyes and clenched his fist. ”Minor Completion. What a perfect training method. If Li Qiye had used the same method, then he would have mastered it in a year instead it took him two.” He said.

Wang Lei again closed his eyes and activated the 4th Gate: Rumbling Heaven. Deep dark crimson energy started to release from his body as, again, deep cracks started to form on his body.

This time his body took longer to destroy.

Another half-year passed, as he again opened his eyes, ”Half Completion.”

This time he opened the 5th Gate: Hell Monarch. The whole process of his body being destroying and forming, he never used any form of energy. It was like a mortal, without any form of energy, trying to perfect his physique.

While Wang Lei was cultivating, things started to change in Profound Continent. First, it was not that noticeable but soon people found out that many experts of Sovereign Realm started to vanish one by one.

Many searched for them, but none were found. Not even a trace was left behind.

A dreadful atmosphere started to emerge over the whole Profound Continent; everyone felt that as if they were being watched by a beast, constantly.

A little mishap would all it takes for the beast to devour them. Many cultivators started to get scared for their lives. Sovereign Realm was the peak of the Profound Continent; if even they were missing then how can they save themselves from this unseen danger that is lurking beneath them.

As people were afraid of this unseen danger, a report came that shook the whole Profound Continent. The Guild was being attacked. No one knows where or how but branches of Guild in different areas started to get destroyed one after another.

After investigation, it was found out that every branch that was destroyed was either close to Sacred Grounds or in the area of the Mighty Heavenly Sword Region.

An investigation team was sent compromising of Ten Sovereign Realms and Hundred Tyrant Realms cultivators.

Everyone's eyes were on this particular team; every cultivator wanted to see if they could find anything. As everyone was watching, they wide-eyed looked as a gigantic dark beast emerged from the void. The pressure it released was like then never felt before.

A terror crawled at the backs of these cultivators. They were thousands of miles away yet they felt insignificant when gazed in that beast's direction.

”What in Heaven is that?!” a cultivator shouted.

An old cultivator who knew of some ancient tombs looked at it with a dignified expression, ”That's a dark beast. But it is not using dark profound energy but something else. What is it? It's terrifyingly evil.” He said.

They all saw in horror as the beast opened his mouth and dark tendrils came from it. They launched towards the investigation team at blinding speed.

Even those in Sovereign Realm had a hard time finding the tendrils position. It hadn't taken long before every cultivator was bound by these tendrils as they forced them inside the mouth of the beasts.

After taking every tendril inside, it roared as a wave of darkness released from it.

Those who were close to it didn't have time to flee before darkness took over them, turning them into many different grotesque monsters.

Plants and land started to die. In the area of hundred miles, nothing was left. The light was taken from this land. Every living being either died or turned a dark creature. Nature died, leaving dead land.

The beast seeing this waves his claw as space was ripped apart, he entered it and vanished, leaving the dead land and dark creatures behind.

But for some reason, these dark creatures didn't move from their initial position but stayed there—as if waiting for something or someone.

The cultivators seeing this sighed at the same time, they were afraid. If a single beast was this powerful then what if more of these started to emerge? Just the thought of it left them petrified with horror.

Everyone started to leave the area, they wanted to inform their clans of this information as soon as possible. They all knew something terrifying was going to happen.
