Chapter 7 - Meeting the Uchiha (1/2)
In a completely out of character action, Mizuki was actually able to wake up at a decent time for once in his life. Realizing that he had fallen asleep studying at his desk, Mizuki let out a mild chuckle.
How long had it been since Mizuki had fallen asleep while studying. 5 years? 10? Probably longer. Regardless, he found himself being nostalgic about his old world.
He didn't have any living family and although he had friends, there was nobody who he was particularly close with.
Shaking his head, Mizuki quickly got dressed in a pair of fresh clothes that he had purchased a couple of days prior, standard blue shinobi sandals with short dark blue pants accompanying them with bandages tied around his ankles.
He wore a standard, grey shinobi shirt under armour shirt and his outfit was completed with a white jacket which he left undone, with sleeves rolling up to his elbows. The cuffs of his sleeves and insides of his jacket were black.
Smiling at his reflection in the washroom mirror, Mizuki said to himself ”looking good mortimer” before having a quick breakfast of cup noodles and rushing out the door.
The Sun was only just beginning to rise, giving Mizuki a couple hours to practice before his academy classes start.
Arriving at the Academy Training Grounds in just over five minutes, with the sun slowly rising higher in the sky, Mizuki got to work.
Although the Academy wasn't teaching them hutsu yet, they did include how to perform the jutsu in the textbooks.
As the only requirement for graduation to being ȧssigned to a jonin is to master an E rank technique and pass a written test, there were only E rank jutsu recorded in the textbook.
Only recently did Mizuki realize how few E rank jutsu existed. The book that they were all given only provided three; The Clone Jutsu, Transformation Jutsu, and Substitution Jutsu
Currently, Mizuki decided that he should focus his attention on the Substitution Jutsu as it was the most useful one to him currently.
Weaving the required hand signs at a relatively quick pace, Mizuki realized that absolutely nothing happened, he had focused his chakra wrong.
He suddenly sped up as where his body was not a second earlier was replaced by a log in a puff of smoke.
Whilst Mizuki was able to technically perform the Jutsu, he was nowhere near proficient at it. Continuing to practice the jutsu for another fifteen minutes, Mizuki felt his proficiency with it rise.
Now, whilst he was nowhere near the level of the Average Shinobi, or even the Average Genin, he was still not to far behind and he believed that if he kept practicing, he would be able to master the jutsu before the end of the week.
Unfortunately for Mizuki though, all of the practice that he was doing drained his chakra to dangerously low levels. If Mizuki were to perform the jutsu one more time, he was positive that he would collapse.
Leaning against a tree and sitting down, Mizuki took a bottle of water and a biscuit out of his bag, snarfing them both back in under thirty seconds.
Just as he finished his ”meal”, Mizuki was leaning on the tree and about to get up when he heard a voice behind him.
