”The person who picked her up is me, and the one who will take her home is me. Of course I do mind. What will people say if a gentleman like me lets someone else take my partner home?” Xi Jian wondered. Since when did he care about other people's opinions? He always ignored that.

Ling Huansheng gave a cold attitude. ”I don't care what others think of you. But I care about my sister's safety.” Ling Huansheng realized that the people here looked at his sister with different intentions. He did not want any of the intentions to end badly on Ling Yue.

Ling Yue felt the tension in both of them increase. ”Ah Sheng ...” she called softly. She knew how bold Ling Huansheng could be. This stubborn brother won't just back down easily. She did not want Ling Huansheng who had just entered the business world clashed with this business king. ”Leave it tonight. Don't overdo it.”

He looked at Ling Yue in disbelief. ”So you prefer being here with him?”

Ling Yue was taken aback. How could this go off in the direction of who should be chosen. Seeing Ling Yue's attitude that showed no signs of obeying, Ling Huansheng looked at her irritably. ”Fine! Do as you please!”

”Hey, Ah Sheng ... wait!” Ling Yue saw her brother's back coming out angrily.

”What a grumpy!” Xi Jian murmured.

Ling Yue's lips twitched. Whose fault is it? she kept that question in her head.

He Luo looked at the two people who were across the room. He wanted to know more about what he had missed to the point of not knowing how Xi Jian could be that close to Ling Yue.

”Mr. He?” the person who invited him to talk earlier was an investor who shouldn't be offended.

”Oh sorry, what did you just say?”

Meanwhile, Ling Yue sighed. She would have a long hard time to let Ling Huansheng's anger subside and persuade him not to ignore her. Ling Yue took the dessert in front of her and then put it in her mouth elegantly. She needs to think of ways to deal with his brothers who sometimes overdo thing for her. She almost choked when Xi Jian reached out and rubbed her forehead between her eyebrows.

”This is quite red,” he said.

Ling Yue had a hard time swallowing the leftovers. ”Water...”

Xi Jian fetched orange juice and handed it to Ling Yue who began to hiccup. He patted Ling Yue's back.

”Why do you always eat in a hurry?” Xi Jian got her a tissue and took back the glass. Ling Yue raised her hand, implying that Xi Jian could stop patting her. Xi Jian took her out of the party place and drove her home.
