21 The Bursary Has Been Approved! (1/2)

After giving clear instructions, Han Feng took his leave. Minister Guan from the Ministry of Education and Principal Liang watched his car leave before letting out a sigh of relief.

Minister Guan wiped off the cold sweat on his forehead. He scanned his surroundings before walking toward Principal Liang. He spoke secretively, ”About that… Old Liang, is everything settled?”

Principal Liang did not know what he was referring to, but indeed, there wasn't a problem. He still felt that something was off about Minister Guan, so he asked, ”You are not planning anything, right? I can tell you this directly, I would not help you if you wanted to hook up with any female students!”

Minister Guan was speechless. Hell, did he look so indecent?

”What are you thinking about?!” the Minister was so angry that he jumped. He continued, ”Do I look like I would do that sort of thing? I just wanted to know if you have anything on. If you are free, I have something to discuss with you.”

Principal Liang was curious, so he immediately asked, ”Nope, what would I be busy with…” He felt that saying he was free the entire day did not sound nice, so Principal Liang quickly corrected himself, ”Ehm...I have finished my work and I'm almost done with the documents too. Just speak your mind about anything, Minister Guan.”

”It's—” Minister Guan took a glance in the direction where the classroom buildings were located and whispered, ”About Hong Xiaofu, I think we need to help him apply for the bursary and lighten his burden.”

Principal Liang grinned widely when he heard that. He said excitedly, ”He can really apply for that?”

Minister Guan was wiping the cold sweat off his forehead again as he said, ”I would definitely do my best to fight for him, but I do have one condition. You must keep him in check and refrain from visiting the Ministry of Education for unimportant matters, remember this! Tell him to look for you if he needs help with anything. As long as his requests are reasonable, I would do my best to approve them for him!”

He had seen Zhang Yang kneel with his own eyes. He had gotten onto his knees in an instant while still lifting weights...it showed that no one knew when Hong Xiaofu's power would come into action. It was like a time bomb. If he had gone to the Ministry one day and the time bomb exploded, he might have ended up on his knees and it would have been a disaster.

Did he not see that even Director Han Feng from the Awakeners Ability Centre had run off as fast as a hare? Who would not be threatened by such a power?

”About that…” Principal Liang looked at him, and suddenly thought that Hong Xiaofu was his lucky charm. How could he not make use of that good chance?

”Minister Guan.” Principal Liang was smiling like a fox. He smirked, ”This is a small matter. You know, it has been hard on our school. There are teachers who have been working here for more than twenty years, but the list for board positions has not been released. Could you do something…?

Minister Guan frowned. The man surely knew how to take his chance. He had just stated his terms a moment before and Liang was already taking advantage of it?

”Principal Liang.” Minister Guan looked at him from the corner of his eye and said, ”Are you doing this right? You are aware that it is not easy for us to release the board positions…”

Principal Liang crossed his fingers to support his chin. He laughed coldly while looking at Minister Guan, ”I just remembered that we have some documents left at the Ministry. Hong Xiaofu is actually one of the more hardworking pupils, and you even approved his bursary. Shall I ask him to thank you personally and get the documents back as well?”

Minister Guan panicked.

”No! I appreciate your kind thoughts!” he rushed to pacify, ”About the postings… it is… ahem. Don't worry about that, I will fight hard for it! Definitely!”

Principal Liang felt genuinely happy. That was the first time talking to him had been easy.

”There's one more thing.” Principal Liang became serious and continued, ”Mr Li Hong is Hong Xiaofu's Class Mentor. Last year he was awarded the title of Most Outstanding Teacher, and he has been working for many years. His first class teacher qualifications should not be a problem either, right?”
