Chapter 227: A crazy plan (1/2)

”Don't tell me you plan on taking on the entire Drakon empire Alone?” Lucien couldn't help but wonder if Derik is just too cocky or just plain stupid. Attacking a stronghold is one thing, attacking an army alone is still within the acceptable range but attacking an empire alone is complete madness! No matter how powerful one is, even a demigod will find it hard to destroy an empire with all its defenses and formations!

Apart from that, the dragon bloodline is considered to be one of the most powerful bloodlines available to beast-men! Amongst the three great emperors, they are considered to be the strongest. He has never shown himself since his empire was formed and over the centuries this man has focused on just cultivation. The empire politics has never been his concern and there are speculations that he might just be a breath away from entering the demigod realm!

Going against such a beast alone with an entire empire is no different from suicide!

”I may be strong but I'm not stupid!” Derik rebuked him immediately with a frown.

”If I wished to go there alone, would there be any reason for me to come here?” Derik said indifferently as his eyes let out a red flash.

Hearing this, Lucien felt like battling Derik to the death! Even if both of them join hands, they will most likely be killed in such an operation! No matter how Derik put it, he couldn't see them coming out on top in this matter!

”The Creed has lost two pillars thanks to you and me, leaving them with only two... They have also lost a considerable amount of force so I don't see them making any major move in the future! This is the time for us to make our move! I do not wish to move to the Drakon empire first... We will have to reach the Champion realm before we can even dream of doing that... So for now, all we can do is explore the world and search for ways of improving our strength!” Derik said and Lucien frowned.

What Derik said made a lot of sense but it is still flawed partially! This is the best time to train and improve themselves but at what cost? With his beast assimilation, he can gain the powers of beasts he kills while using their life force to strengthen his realm while Derik relies on consuming the soul of the dead to strengthen himself. Since both of them do not make use of the conventional means of cultivation it can be said this trip will benefit them but the main issue is this. Cultivation level alone is not the only means of gaining strength!

A lot has happened and the only thing they are lacking right now is powerful artifacts! As long as they can get their hands on powerful sealed artifacts, they can quickly close the gap in strength.

”What do you have in mind” Lucien did not outrightly reject the plan, making Derik smile.

He loved people with an open mind.

”We start hunting emperor beasts... While you assimilate their abilities, I use my death magic to revive them and add them to my undead army... With their soul power, we should be able to cultivate twice as fast if we kill the magic beast in massive numbers... We also get to grow our personal armies using this method” Derik said but Lucien shook his head in disagreement.

”I will lose my sanity if I assimilate too many beast properties” Lucien rejected the plan but Derik's body shot forward like a spear, reaching him in almost an instant!

Derik was too stunned to react immediately as Derik grabbed him by the neck and pulled him off the ground! The illusionary blue dragon scales quickly appeared all over his body as his eyes flared up with blue mana.

Bam!

Slapping Derik's ears with both hands, Lucien created a mild shockwave loud enough to wake Alice but even then Derik didn't flinch, he acted as if he didn't get hit and quickly tossed Lucien towards a wall!

Bang!

Lucien smashed into the wall but before he could even react, Derik followed up with the attack by crashing into him, and using him to smash a hole through the wall!

Whoosh!

With much effort, Lucien was able to stop his body from flying back and regain composure. Derik looker like a ghastly figure who cannot even match anyone in strength but his hits carry a lot of weight but the most shocking part of the entire issue is that Lucien didn't feel a thing. His new body provided him with so much defense even Derik's attack didn't hurt him.

”Who are you?!” Alice screamed as she covered her naked body with the sheets while gazing at the ghastly red-eyed man.

”Don't worry too much... I am not going to kill your little boyfriend... I just want him to understand something important” Derik said calmly as he walked towards the destroyed part of the wall.

”You will lose!” Alice said with so much confidence, even Derik was momentarily stunned. This reminded him of his past life when everyone had absolute faith in his abilities! No matter what was happening or who they are up against, whenever he bothered to show up, everyone simply concluded he will emerge victoriously.

To think someone like Lucien would have such powerful believers present!

”If more people think of him this was, it is only a matter of time before he becomes a demigod!” Derik said calmly before leaving the room, leaving Alice shocked and confused. Since she didn't know anything about the power of faith, she didn't understand what was going on.
