Chapter 174: Civil war! (1/2)

”Aaaaah!” Lucien was pulled back to reality as the vision stopped midway, making him wish he saw the rest of the battle between the two beasts. Although he had expected something like this to happen in the first place, Lucien never expected the god of death of their world could be toyed with in such a manner. His annoyed gaze fell on the Raizen god spirit avatar trying to break free but was pinned down by fiery blue chains from Rakuzen.

”What do you plan to do now?” Rakuzen asked casually while shooting Lucien a glance.

”I make Raizen's power mine and then go help the emperor,” Lucien said while focusing on consuming the Raizen avatar with the beast assimilation.

At this point, he was more shocked than worried. He could still remember back then when then Invaders Blink and Clovis spoke on their masters coming. He thought it was just unnecessary boasting but seeing it happen today left him stunned. To think that someone like Blink would have a powerful being like Derik as his master.

”Derik is coming for you but no one knows that, let's keep it that way…. Once a foreign being invades a god vein, his powers are suppressed so yes, there may be a fighting chance… You all may be able to defeat him if things are done properly…. The people you have to be worried about are those who will try to stop you” Rakuzen said calmly.

Hearing this Lucien frowned as he considered something. During the invasion led by Blink and Clovis, the duo vanished for a week or so and many believed they were hidden by someone influential in the empire. Apart from the Wuxing clan patriarch, it is very unlikely there is someone else who can challenge the emperor in terms of strength in this empire. This led him to believe that Derik Angus's arrival may have something to do with the coup.

”Is there really a chance that these idiots are working with the invader?” Lucien avoided calling Derik's name for his sake.

”It is a possibility but this can be considered a very stupid move as well… Mortals do not make deals with gods! It never ends well!' Rakuzen said as he watched Lucien absorb what was left of the Raizen god beasts avatar.

With this done, Lucien had regained the power of the Raizen god beast but this time without the link. He felt the urge to lead the people of the Raizen clan into war but for some reason, he didn't want to do it either. Not only will they slow him down but he is yet to understand what he is up against.

Without bothering to say a few words to them, Lucien turned into a beam of silver light and shot towards the capital, meanwhile….

Seated on the golden phoenix throne of the Royal courtroom, Emperor Fei silently listened to sounds of explosions rocking the entire capital. He had expected the coup to happen soon but not so soon, especially when the empire is at the brink of war with the other empires! At a time when they should be gathering their strength and forces for the Libet empire and not for some silly personal reasons.

”Idiots… Whether I survive this or not changes almost nothing… After today's event, the Fotia empire will be targeted by the Libet and Drakon empire… we will be eradicated from the face of this continent just because of the selfish intentions of a few!” Emperor Fri slammed the armrest of his throne while gritting his teeth.

He knew the outcome of this civil war will lead to the weakening of the Fotia empire and only then will the two empires join forces to launch an all out attack on what remains of the Fotia empire!

”It's unlike you to be this worried, old man Fei… Let's focus on surviving this coup and worry about the rest later” Instructor Han said in a calm manner.

”The youngling is right… we will deal with these problems as they come … no need to think too much about the future” The Wuxing clan patriarch said while nodding his head repeatedly.

Only after listening to the two men standing behind his throne did emperor Fri calm down a little and focus his thoughts on more relevant things. Thanks to the teleportation platforms all over the empire, these big clans were able to move their forces quickly, surrounding the capital and then destroying the teleportation platforms to prevent reinforcement from arriving. He finally understood why Lucien refused to use such teleportation systems in his territory! If he had done that same a lot of these things could have been avoided.

”What about the Lucien… how do we contact him?” Instructor Han said but Emperor Fei only shot him a sly smile before shaking his head repeatedly.

”That Kid has his hands full right now” Emperor Fei said with a bitter smile on his face.
