Chapter 44 - Vulnerability (1/2)

”Bella!”

Bella Lim was startled when a voice called her name out loud. Followed with was a sudden hug that made her almost lose her balance.

”Bella, it's good that you're okay,” a voice as gentle as the wind rang beside her. She looked around and finally realized that it was Sun Nan who was hugging her, and Lu Fei was standing just a few steps away from her, smiling.

Seeing their reactions, she couldn't help but tremble a little. Sun Nan had freed her from his embrace and now was hugging little pumpkin. Even Lu Fei was checking if little pumpkin was okay.

Ahh… she really didn't want to cry in front of these people. Bella Lim looked above her, trying to suppress the tears from rolling down. But, their voices of concern made it difficult.

Bella Lim chuckled, trying to humor herself from crying. Yet, she knew she couldn't stop it. No, she really didn't want to cry here...

Suddenly, someone held her hand. Startled, she looked at the strong hand that was gripping on her feeble one. Until her eyes saw who the person was, Bella Lim felt her heart jumped out from her body. Eric Wu! What was he doing?

”Sun Nan, Lu Fei, please look after little Ryan. I have something to ask Bella,” Eric Wu glanced at Bella Lim who looked stupefied before staring at the two men who was chatting with Ryan Lim. Sun Nan made an okay gesture while Lu Fei nodded understandingly.

”W-where are you bringing me?” Bella Lim gathered her strength to ask. She was too shocked that the tears accumulated at the corner of her eyes seemed to disappear. However, Eric Wu didn't respond. He kept on pulling her hand until they reached a room.

The room had an uneven floor. The slightly staged floor was like a library with rows of bookshelves standing on it. While the one she was standing on was a big area that displayed minimal furniture. A set of black and white desk and chair was placed at the center in front of the big wide window mirroring the wonderful ocean view. On the opposite side of the mini-library was a small cozy area with a set of couches arranged neatly near a fireplace.

Bella Lim had a grasped of what the room was. This was Enlai Gong's workplace! She was excited because it was one of her life dreams to see Enlai Gong's writing space. Today, her dream was fulfilled!

While Bella Lim was admiring the room, Eric Wu once again pulled her hand towards the cozy area. He held her shoulders and pushed her down to sit on one of the couches.

Bella Lim stared at Eric Wu with eyes that contained a lot of questions.

”This room is good for you to cry,” she heard him said. Then, he walked to the writing desk and put on his eyewear. He began typing.

Bella Lim laughed sporadically for she finally knew why she was dragged to this place. She stared at the man again with gratitude. She was really touched by his action. She knew he was a kind person or else he wouldn't help her in the past. But, never would she thought that he would be this thoughtful.

Eric Wu… why are you so kind to me? She asked the same questions again and again inside her mind. She thought a while back, this man must've noticed her tears, maybe that was the reason he brought her in this room.

Now, her emotion was stirred again.

Without this man, would she still be alive right now? Would she still see little pumpkin's smile?

Bella Lim looked at the fireplace at her right side and then to Eric Wu. Her gaze was on him for a long time.
