Chapter 35 - Cutting ties (2/2)

Bella Lim sighed. Why was it after being reborn, everything in her life wasn't following the original script? Moreover, this was only her second day. What had she done so wrong in her previous life that she had to go through this hassle?

Exhausting. She was exhausted.

Bella Lim closed her eyes. For the first time ever, she felt that her honor was trampled. What was the meaning of being demoted? It was to show that she was just a nobody.

”You should be grateful that you're only being demoted,” Carla spoke after being silent for a long time. She chuckled as she sat on a chair with her leg crossed. Her eyes were looking down on Bella Lim's tiny body. Her gaze cruel as if she was trying to skin her alive. The old man was also doing the same, taunting her with every blink. It seemed that these two have come to a temporary truce. They were now working together to get back to Bella Lim.

”Heh! demoted?” Bella Lim scoffed as she went to take little pumpkin who was hugged by Lily. She held his arms and look at his eyes tenderly. Then, she turned around to face the three sinister people.

”Jordan, did you know what makes this cafe so interesting to the judges last night?” she asked with a sardonic smile on her face. The target simply stared at her blankly.

”I've made up a certain lie. Now, you have to live up to that. Of course, only... if you are capable. However, if you rely on Carla's ability...hehe... I remembered one time, she couldn't even handle a spatula,” she chuckled as her eyes darted towards Carla who was clearly angered by what she just said. Lily and Daniel who were standing next to each other snickered but quickly closed their mouths with their palms.

It was indeed true, in the past, Carla needed a crash-course just to learn everything about her job. Worst, she kept whining without making any real efforts. It was truly a headache to teach her everything from scratch.

”You-” Carla wanted to retaliate but Jordan Lee's warning gaze made her stop.

”What do you mean? Fuck! you're forbidden from leaving this cafe unless you explain everything,” Jordan Lee moved forward. His tall body was now so close to Bella Lim. However, the other simply laughed at his provocation.

Bella Lim looked up, her sapphire blue eyes shone with determination. ”Jordan Lee, as of now, I'm no longer your employee. I resign!” she declared causing everyone to gape in shock.

It was now clear why Elis knew a lot about Carla. Seeing him unable to resist Carla's charm, Bella Lim knew this man had been in a relationship with this woman. Such a man wasn't worthy of her attention.

”Bell~” both Lily and Daniel stared at her with begging eyes. Pleading her not to go. Bella Lim looked at them and smiled.

'These two will be alright,' she thought. Besides, given their personalities, she knew no one in Simply Cafe was daring enough to scold them unless they wanted to see the Cafe immobilized due to these two leaving. Hiring new people would settle this problem, but to hire one without demands was difficult.

This was because Azure country was the only county with the lowest rate of unemployment. Therefore, instead of people begging for jobs, it was the other way round in this country. It was the employer who had to work hard in advertising their companies. Except, if they wanted to hire immigrants which actually cost a lot.

”Bella, stop!” Jordan Lee was enraged. He held Bella Lim's hand but was easily yanked aside. He was taken aback when the other stared at him. He could see the utter disgust in her eyes! This woman was looking down at him.

Bella Lim went to the small room at the back of the cafe and took all her stuff away. Little pumpkin was holding her helmet.

”Get lost!” Bella Lim spoke impatiently when Jordan Lee once again tried to stop her. Seeing the man moved back, she walked out of the door with little pumpkin. Her tiny figure left the cafe with pride as she didn't look back even once.

Today, Bella Lim had officially cut ties with Simply Cafe!
