Chapter 127 Watching Her Being Bad, Yan Beicheng Really Wanted to Say, He Liked It! (1/2)

It was not up to her to control that son.

”When you've become my mother-in-law, then I'll start treating you with respect.” A fake smile was plastered on Lin Chu's face. Her eyes were not smiling but looked cold. It was full of sarcasm.

Jiang Changdai felt like she was slapped across the face! She had never taken care of Yan Beicheng and nearly even lost him when he was younger. Now, she wanted him to marry the daughter of her former lover, and that was crazy about her. It disgusted her to think Jiang Changdai could come up with such a thought, she wanted to throw up.

Rather than describing her being stupid, it was better to say that she had never given much thought to Yan Beicheng nor was she even concerned about him, otherwise, she would not have done something like this to him.

Normal people would never do what she did. One could even substitute their brains with their feet to know that Yan Beicheng would never listen to her. Yet, she still had the gall to come looking for her to play the part of the unhappy mother-in-law.

Lin Chu could no longer stay, she could not even continue putting on her fake smile.

Her eyes were a little red as her heart ached for Yan Beicheng's sake. She had even wanted to interrogate Jiang Changdai on behalf of Yan Beicheng. What did she treat Yan Beicheng as?

What part of Yan Beicheng that could not compare to another? He was her real son yet she treated the daughter of her former lover, someone who had no blood relations with her, better than she did him.

She wanted to shout out loud, 'You are an unfit mother, why could you not let go of Yan Beicheng and live your life? You would rather put yourself down to make your old lover's daughter happy. Fine, but stop your disgusting behavior with Yan Beicheng'.

'He may seem to be a cold, distant man, but he would still feel sad. Even if he no longer harbored any hope for you, you would still be his real mother, regardless. He would still feel hurt from the way you treated him.'

She wanted to scream at Jiang Changdai about having such a good son, yet why did she not like him?! Why did she not cherish him?! She may not like or cherish him, but please do not destroy him!

Even if he deserved someone better than Lin Chu, that someone should not be like Lu Weining! Not someone used by Jiang Changdai as a tool to make her old lover happy.

Only someone as blind as Jiang Changdai could not see how great and outstanding Yan Beicheng was.

She had never met a woman as terrible as her. It would be a good thing if Jiang Changdai could spare a minor thought for Yan Beicheng, but even that did not exist.

She treated Yan Beicheng badly and had never given him anything, yet now, she wanted to control him. She had never treated him as a human being, but as an object with no emotions.

But Yan Beicheng was still human. His heart was made out of flesh. She knew that this man had a very kind heart. When he was at his saddest, he still remembered to treat a little girl with kindness. He may claim that he did not like Mo Jingxi but he would still buy the children new clothes. He would complain about Yan Ningbai but he still took good care of the child.

He was the most kind-hearted person she knew yet he was being trampled on by Jiang Changdai!

If only Jiang Changdai could treat Yan Beicheng a little better, even if she could show him a shred of concern, if she could just ask him once in a while if he had eaten, then it would be enough for Yan Beicheng to show her filial piety and respect.

Lin Chu felt angry for Yan Beicheng's sake. How could such a good man be involved with someone like Jiang Changdai?

She lowered her head so her hair could cover her eyes. She closed her eyes to stop that tear from falling out of them.

Even if the tears were meant for Yan Beicheng, she did not want Jiang Changdai to see them. With Jiang Changdai's attitude, the tears might be mistaken for her giving in to Jiang Changdai.

She took a deep breath and held back her tears with difficulty before raising her eyes to look at Jiang Changdai.

Lin Chu clenched her teeth and said, ”No matter what, you are Beicheng's mother. There's a lot of words I won't be able to say to you because of Beicheng. If it were someone else who did what you did, I would tell her that she doesn't deserve to be a mother, she doesn't even deserve to be a human being! As a wife, she was unfaithful. As a mother, she gave birth to a child and neglected it. As someone who owes another a life, she repaid their kindness with ingratitude. How could someone like that think she can tell me who I'm worthy of? This kind of person is only worthy of the man with the worst heart and the worst personality, they'd both be like the turtle and the green bean.

Jiang Changdai was so angry, her face went pale. She almost had to lie down on her seat. Lin Chu claimed that it was not her place to say anything, but she did not miss out on anything being said. She may seem to be talking about someone else, but every sentence was an attack on her!

Lin Chu kept reminding her of a past she had intentionally tried to ignore or forget. She was not given any space for sympathy and was accused by Lin Chu to the very last deed.

She… She even called her a turtle!

Lin Chu looked at her coldly, then got up and walked out of the café, leaving behind Jiang Changdai who was still pressing her hands to her heart. She was still reveling in what had just happened.

A café waiter later walked over to ask if he needed to help her make a call to 120.

What's there to call 120?!

Lin Chu gave Zheng Yuntong a call when she walked out of the café to inform her that she could not make it to the restaurant.

She felt like she needed to vent her anger, so she went straight towards Yan Hui.

But she stopped right in front of the door of Yan Hui.

What was she doing here at this time? To look for Yan Beicheng?

She did not even know if Yan Beicheng was having his lunch somewhere else.

When she said those words to Jiang Changdai, she wanted so badly to see Yan Beicheng, even if it was a glance. As long as she could see his handsome, smiling face, her anger would dissipate. So, she made a run here.

However, she stopped herself when she was here. She had never done anything rash, yet she ran over during working hours just because she wanted to see him.

It would be embarrassing if people found out about it. It would not be dignified of her if they felt that she was too clingy and could not leave Yan Beicheng for even one second.

She sighed. She was feeling a little hungry after that run. She rubbed her tummy and decided to turn back and find a restaurant on the way to have a meal. At that moment, a young man on a bike stopped at the entrance of Yan Hui.

He took out a bag of takeaway from the insulated box at the back of his bike. One could see the vague shape of the takeaway box from the white bag. It looked like it was filled with a lot of food.

The young man walked up to the steps of Yan Hui quickly. Zuo Qiu was waiting there for his takeaway.

Zuo Qiu took a look at the young man and saw a familiar figure from the corner of his eyes. He was surprised and thought he had made a mistake, so he turned back to look clearly.

That was Lin Chu!

Lin Chu was about to walk off when Zuo Qiu hurriedly called out, ”Miss Lin!”

Lin Chu paused and started to break out in cold sweat. She would not be able to leave now. How was she going to explain her appearance here in the afternoon? Lin Chu's face burned with embarrassment at the thought of her appearing and then sneaking away without so much as a word.

Lin Chu could only stop. She turned around to see Zuo Qiu with the delivery in his hands. He started to walk over as the young man glanced at her and then climbed onto his bike to leave.

”Miss Lin, are you here to see Master Yan?” Zuo Qiu smiled as he asked.

Lin Chu could only force herself to nod, and replied, ”Yup. There's a matter I need to see him about.”

”The timing is just right. Master Yan had also ordered takeaway. Miss Lin, you haven't had lunch yet, have you?” Zuo Qiu smiled and held up the bag in his hands.

”Why is he only eating now?” Lin Chu could not help asking and forgot about her embarrassment.

It was now past lunchtime. She was stopped by Jiang Changdai when she had come out of the office of Lin Yi. After chatting with her at the café for a while and heading over here, it was close to 1 pm. Yet, he had only just ordered lunch.

”There's quite a bit to handle this afternoon, so he had to work overtime for a while. But there's not much to do in the afternoon,” Zuo Qiu replied honestly but added on the latter sentence after giving it some thought.

Lin Chu was a little muddled by his answer and did not immediately understand what he meant. But under the smiling gaze of Zuo Qiu, she had no choice but to follow him into Yan Hui.

Zuo Qiu knocked on the office door of Yan Beicheng. Yan Beicheng was still looking at the screen of his computer, too busy to even look up. He waited for Zuo Qiu to put down his takeaway but instead heard Lin Chu's voice, ”Stop looking at the screen and have your lunch. If you continue staring at it that way, you'll be working your lunch hour away. Does that mean you will just skip your lunch?”

Yan Beicheng lifted his head in surprise and saw Lin Chu standing right in front of his office table.

He almost thought it was a hallucination because he was too tired from work. Zuo Qiu very knowingly closed the door behind him and left the two of them in the office.

While Lin Chu looked unhappy, Yan Beicheng looked overjoyed with a wide smile on his face. One could see the rows of his teeth with the smile. Paired with the bright sunlight shining in from the French window, it was so dazzling that Lin Chu could hardly keep her eyes open.

Yan Beicheng stood up immediately and held Lin Chu's hands. He was very agitated over this.

He had previously used the excuse of working with Lin Yi to get Lin Chu to come over. Even then, she was always in business mode, it was impossible to get her to take the initiative to visit him here. He did not expect her to appear on her own.

Yan Beicheng unreservedly gave her a big kiss on the forehead. The sound of the kiss of so loud that it made Lin Chu's ears go red.

”Quickly have your lunch.” Lin Chu's fingers gently poked him in the chest.

Yan Beicheng wrapped her hands in his and looked at the time. He frowned and said, ”Have you eaten?”

If she had come here after lunch, then she might have gulped down her food a little too fast.

At this moment, there were a few knocks on the office door. Zuo Qiu came in with another set of takeaway in his hands. ”Master Yan, Miss Lin has not had her lunch yet, so I ordered extra.”

Lin Chu looked at him and felt apologetic, ”You didn't give me your portion of the food, did you?”

Zuo Qiu did not hide it from her and replied, ”The takeaway would not arrive that fast if I ordered again. You can have this first, I'll get order another one for myself later.”

Lin Chu would not consent. She could not let someone else go hungry for her sake. Lunch hour was about to end, and a new order of takeaway would never arrive on time.

Yan Beicheng then said to Zuo Qiu, ”Let's do this, call them and get a set of white rice. The restaurant's white rice has been ready cooked, so they will be able to deliver it here if we offer some incentive. I've ordered quite a number of dishes, it's enough for two.”

Zuo Qiu did not continue to insist. Before the white rice arrived, Yan Beicheng shared his portion with Lin Chu. Not long after, Zuo Qiu brought in a hot delivery of white rice.

”Here you are being unhappy with me and yet, you haven't even started your lunch at this hour either,” Yan Beicheng frowned. He looked much more relaxed after Lin Chu had finished half of the rice.

Lin Chu was never a big eater and in addition to being angry over Jiang Changdai, she did not have much of an appetite. However, she was concerned over Yan Beicheng being worried about her, so she tried to eat as much as possible, which looked to be her usual portion.

After eating, she took some tissue out from the box to wipe her mouth as Yan Beicheng looked at her disapprovingly. She thought about Jiang Changdai's words and felt the heartache that she could not repress. It ached even more now.

Yan Beicheng was still eating when he felt a soft touch around his waist. He lowered his head to see Lin Chu's arms gently hugging him around the waist. The hug slowly turned tighter and she placed her face on his shoulders. He could feel her softness on his arms.

”What's going on?” It was rare for Yan Beicheng to see her being so clingy. He liked it very much but felt a little strange about it at the same time.

Lin Chu shook her head as her forehead stuck on his shoulders. She did not care if he could feel it, ”I just suddenly felt like hugging you this way.”

”How do you expect me to continue eating?” Yan Beicheng gave a small laugh. His words may sound like he was objecting but his left hand was already around her arms.

Lin Chu gave a little cunning smile and suddenly kick off her shoes. She stood on the sofa with her bare feet and moved behind him like he was about to piggy-back her. Both legs circled him while her hands hugged him around the waist from behind. Her face rested on his back.

Yan Beicheng felt a gentle softness on his back. She was leaning gently against him and he did not dare move at all.

After he was finished with all the food, he took some tissue to wipe his mouth before turning behind to pick up Lin Chu.

”What's wrong with you this afternoon?” Yan Beicheng asked.

He was right, she came here for a reason.

He had thought about this when Lin Chu arrived. But she did not look like she had suffered any grievances. He did not have the chance to ask her about it as he was interrupted by her.

His voice was so gentle, coming from above her head. It was like he was afraid of frightening her, as if she would break from the noise if he were slightly louder.

Lin Chu's heart ached even more for him after being treated so carefully by him. She rubbed her face in his arms and her fuzzy hair tickled him on the chin.

Yan Beicheng scratched helplessly at his chin and hugged her, ”You're acting exactly like Chu Xi.”

She was acting just like a little puppy looking to be consoled by its master after suffering some grievances.

Surprisingly, Lin Chu did not refute him, she did not even give him a gentle pinch.

After spending an amount of time with Lin Chu only did Yan Beicheng realize how much an open Lin Chu loved pinching people.

Whenever he teased her for fun, she did not take it seriously and while she did pinch him then, it was not a strong pinch. It did not hurt but it was ticklish.

However, when she got angry, she really did not bother if it hurt him. Like the last time when Lu Weining came to their house, she had pinched him real hard. He almost died from the pain of it.

Yan Beicheng started to feel anxious. He frowned as he placed Lin Chu on his lap. He lowered his head to look at her face properly.

Their noses were touching as he said in a low voice, ”Tell me, what exactly is going on?”

His voice had always had a nice ring to it, now that he spoke in a lower tone with the murmur close by her lips, it sounded so ridiculously sexy. It was pumped full of male hormones, which made her feel slightly better about things.

”I came over so late without having lunch because when I came out of the company, I was stopped by your mot… I was stopped by Miss Jiang,” Lin Chu could not bring herself to say the 'M' word. She felt that Jiang Changdai was not worthy of it, so she referred to her surname instead.

Yan Beicheng's face fell, his face looked especially dark. If it was not for Lin Chu still holding on to him, he would have run out to confront that woman.

Lin Chu quickly said, ”Don't worry, she didn't do anything to me. I was the one that said a lot of rude things to her.”

Yan Beicheng felt slightly better after hearing her words. His deep voice had a tinge of a smile in it, ”Rude things?”

Lin Chu pressed her lips together. She knew Yan Beicheng was not mad, so she told him the whole story.

”I was so unhappy for you. She never did anything for you and had never so much as looked you. She even nearly lost you. She's never done her duty as a mother. Yet, now she dares throw around her weight as a mother to order you which girl you should marry and which you shouldn't? If she had really felt bad and suddenly wanted to fulfill her duties as a mother and criticize me, then I'll just accept it. But she wants you to be with Lu Weining, claiming that Lu Weining is the one worthy of you. All because she wants to please that Lu…”

Lin Chu clenched her teeth. She could not bring herself to say the words 'Lu Zhenting'. It was the same as saying that Jiang Changdai was Yan Beicheng's mother. Both would dirty her mouth.

”How could there be a mother like her? I really can't understand it, how could she do something like this to her own child? Which was why I…”

”Which was why you felt hurt on my behalf and came here to see me?” Yan Beicheng smiled.

Lin Chu stayed silent but did not refute him. She hugged him tighter with her hands.

She was not the kind of person to say nauseating, mushy words. Either she would say them when she was full to the brim with emotions, or if she had too much to drink and got overeager to share her inner thoughts without being stressed out about it.

”I acted rashly by coming here the moment I walked out of the café. Now I'm regretting just a little bit,” Lin Chu said red-faced. She buried her face in his chest, too embarrassed to look at anyone.
