Chapter 129: Mist. (3) (1/2)

Sylvia’s island, Anonymous Island, had achieved magical value.

The island itself was made as a catalyst for Sylvia by collecting the mana soil that drifted in the orbit of the Floating Island.

Thus, Sylvia’s magic while on the Island could reach anywhere on the continent.

Whether it was the Empire’s catacombs, somewhere on the continent, or some distant, unknown Ghost Island…─…I have no right to kill that child.

Sylvia listened to Deculein, feeling his tone.

─ But the kid has it.She asked, knowing he couldn’t hear. He said as if answering.

—The right to kill me. It felt like being stabbed in the heart with a needle, a small pain that arrived when her emotions died.

”What do you think, Idnik?”

A dull question was spoken in monotone and in a voice that was so dry it was about to crumble. Idnik, standing beside her, answered.”

I think that guy still has a conscience.

”Sylvia looked up into the sky, watching a flock of migratory birds that came to the island. The familiar was leading them.”

Right to kill.

”She had the right to kill him.He admitted that.Sylvia closed her eyes and pondered the hatred in her heart. The more she knew, the angrier she grew. However, another emotion burned and stuck to the bottom of her heart, not easily removed.”

Idnik. Do Carla and Deculein know each other?

”Idnik smiled a little.”

There are some people in this magic world who everyone knows just from hearing their names. For example, Carla, Rohakan, Adrienne, Rodran, Glitheon, Betan, Resol, Kamdall, Gindalf, Rose Rio…

”Idnik placed a hand on Sylvia’s forehead, who narrowed her eyes.”

…Take your hand off.

All of them, big or small, are related to Deculein. Among them, Carla and Rohakan, in particular, have a history of teaching Deculein.

”She didn’t know if this was the right expression, but Deculein was popular. Of course, that wasn’t necessarily a good thing.”

If you include the previous head of the family, Decalane, almost all of them are above the rank of Monarch. Thanks to some sponsorships and other dealings, many of the addicts on the Floating Island have a connection with Yukline.

”“It’s a very strange family. They know how to gain attention…”

Nodding, Sylvia closed her eyes again. Concentrating on her magic, she once again looked into the distant island of the continent.

Carla and Deculein were teachers and disciples. Carla was the first wizard who came to teach Deculein at the request of Decalane, followed by Rohakan. Of course, neither of the two achieved their intended purpose.

Carla, the same age as Deculein, quit after about two weeks because his talent was too limited.Though she felt a little sorry, she thought it was ultimately his fault.

And actually, it was.Carla looked at Deculein as he kept a hand on Epherene’s forehead to Understand her dream. No, he stopped, clicking his tongue. Carla tilted her head.

It takes too long this way. Instead.

”He closed his eyes for a moment, conveying another order to the wood steel roaming the castle.”

I am thinking of a more primitive way.

”Carla looked at Deculein, her gaze practically piercing into his skull. What happened to Deculein in the meantime to turn him into the Altar’s most coveted mind?”

Deculein. What has happened to you?

”Deculein remained focused.”

I think you are interesting. I’m curious.”“

What do you mean?”“

I am curious about your growth, and I wonder why you’ve accepted Sierra’s death as your fault.”

“Is it because you pity Sylvia?”

Deculein’s brow twitched, causing Carla to shift her gaze. She could see the magic watching this space once again.”

The Deculein I knew was already out of line a lot of the time.

”Deculein listened silently. Carla was trying to convey some important information about his history.”

Did I used to pity you, who lacked talent and couldn’t even admit that fact?

”The Deculein that Carla knew then was a timid little dog that grew angry and barked every day for fear that someone would attack or look down on him.”

But now there is a fire in your soul. I can see that.

”Deculein leaned into his chair.

A fire? That had a slightly different meaning to him.

Was it the spark of Deculein in Kim Woojin’s soul, or the spark of Kim Woojin in Deculein’s soul?

However, it was also true that he was a little angry. Who dares to say they pitied him?”

I pity you too.

”Deculein knew the setting of the Named Carla, and there were good reasons for one to pity her storyline.”

There is no other hapless life quite like yours.

”Carla met his stare.”

Why did I accept Sierra’s death?

It’s simple. Because I killed her.”Sierra died at Deculein’s hands. Deculein had that memory, and Carla knew it too. When dealing with demons in the past, Carla was always by Yukline’s side. It was also because of that demon that Sierra died, that catastrophe known as the Lucky Letter.”

Whatever resentment there was, for whatever reason, there is no justification for the fact that I killed her.

”Deculein paused a moment, his eyes burning.”

It’s too late to regret now, and nothing would change.”“

So I will live like this.”“

…Even though Sylvia might kill you someday?”“

I am willing to accept it.

”The wind blew again. Carla let out a low sigh. She withdrew her resolve to put Deculein in her Authority, giving up on her intention to open up his head and offer him to the Altar. But, Deculein might not know yet. That Decalane wasn’t dead yet, that the old man’s brain was still alive and living at the bottom of the Altar. And that monster wanted his body.”

…I think you should be careful.”Carla said so with a shake of her head.
