After a minute, the two of them went down the underground parking lot and got into the Volkswagen Beetle.

It might have been because it was night time, but there were not many cars on the road.

Inside the car, the atmosphere was quiet, save for the music coming from the radio.

Suddenly, Sun Yi turned off the radio and steered the wheel while she said, “Can I ask you a question?”

“Sure.”

“I’ve always been curious why you’d helped me. Why? Was it because I helped you out during the incident at the Magnificent Group?”

“To tell you the truth, I’ve inadvertently realized that you look at me with a sense of gratitude in your eyes a lot of times… I’m just really puzzled by that.”

Ye Chen was caught off guard by her words. He suddenly thought of something and said to himself, “You’ll find out tomorrow.”

‘Tomorrow?’

Sun Yi was caught off guard as well. She thought of something but was not too sure about it.

“Silly, tomorrow’s Monday. Don’t they do announcements on every Monday?”

“Fine, but then again, it feels good to have you back. It makes me feel at ease, really.”

“To be honest, I haven’t felt secure for a long time. But you’ve let me feel at ease today…”

When Sun Yi was talking, she was looking at Ye Chen from the corner of her eye to see his reaction.

Ye Chen smiled. He looked as if he wanted to say something when his expression changed all of a sudden and his entire face looked like it belonged to a coldblooded killer.

This urge to kill was something he had never felt before.

Sun Yi felt the car’s temperature drop abruptly, so much so that she could not help but shudder a bit.

She looked toward Ye Chen. “Do you feel like it got cold suddenly? Did the temperature drop? It’s not possible…”

Ye Chen did not answer her.

Ye Chen’s cold voice sounded when the car passed by a junction, “Sun Yi, stop the car here.”

Sun Yi did not react in time. Ye Chen repeated himself sternly, “Stop the car right now!”

“Okay…”

Sun Yi floored the brakes and Ye Chen held Sun Yi’s hand in his when the car slowed to a stop.

“Listen carefully to the words I’m about to say. Don’t interrupt me either. Just follow exactly what I tell you to do and I won’t hurt you.”

Sun Yi did not know why her back went cold but when she looked into Ye Chen’s eyes. She saw an expression she had never seen before. His eyes were unprecedentedly serious and cold.

This person was the exact opposite of the smiley and hippie Ye Chen that she knew!

He looked like a bloodthirsty demon from hell!

“Okay.”

Ye Chen glanced once more at the review mirror before continuing, “Number one, after I get off the car, you will speed back to Grand City Apartments immediately. It’s important that you don’t stop at any cost, no matter what you see or hear.

“Number two, when you are home, grab the phone on the table and hide inside my room. Remember to not open the door for anyone!

“Number three, grab the phone and dial the last number I dialed in the afternoon. Just tell the person on the other side to hurry and bring the strongest person to your house immediately.

“Number four, if someone breaks in within this half an hour, don’t resist. Just surrender and wait for me to rescue you. Are you clear about everything?”

Sun Yi nodded her head fervently.

Her entire back was soaked. She did not know what was going to happen to her next!

Ye Chen knew she was nervous, but it would be more advantageous to her the more nervous she gets.

When the car halted, Ye Chen looked at Sun Yi, opened the car door, and jumped out.

“Go, right now!”
