Chapter 270: Trials of the Lord of Weapons! (b) (1/2)
[You've gained a total of 100 skill essence of the demonic-ranked technique, Energy Radiation!]
[Would you like to use 50 skill essence to learn it?”
Everything now made sense to the handsome man. The dark book was similar to the trial ground. The creator of this technique only wanted the people who passed his challenges and gained his acknowledgment to learn the technique he created using his entire life as an example. Passing even one of his challenges would net a few skill essence to the person who can use them to learn it.
”Yes, I would like to learn it.”
Who wouldn't?
It was a demonic-ranked technique, feared and desired by even the members of the higher races.
[Congratulations! You've learned a demonic grade skill, Energy Radiation (entry-level)]
[Description: You can discharge energy to up to a hundred miles and launch an impossible to evade attack at everything within that range.]
An instant after those words left his mouth, a large amount of information entered Elliot's mind. It showed him how to control the energy after discharging it out of his body. It told him how to infect the energy in the surrounding by using the energy he discharged from his body. It told him how to take control of the energy in his surrounding. It told him how to make a virtual ability kingdom!
[You've gained a new skill, ”Virtual Ability Kingdom: Evil Genius Invasive pursuit.”]
It allowed him to gain such an understanding of his essence of life and spiritual energy that he gained an ability kingdom of his own, albeit not as good as an actual one.
But it was still better than having none!
He had used 50 skill essence to learn it. Now, he only had 50 left. Elliot turned his gaze and looked at the number of skill essence he needed to upgrade it to to the next level and saw that he needed 200 points, almost four times the initial amount.
”The intermediate-level must be really special as it allows one to shatter others into pieces. I wonder what changes it would bring in my use of energy after I reach that level.”
Elliot moved to the next page. From what he could tell, the dark book only had a total of eight pages. He had already gone through two of them, defeated their mechanism, and earned all the skill essence he could from them. Only six more pages could give him the skill essence he needed to upgrade it.
The third and fourth pages lacked words. They were empty, as white as the paper of the child who decided to fill his answer sheet with white while remembering all the times he gripped his stick and moved his hand back and forth instead of studying. The whiteness of the sheet reminded the child of the thousands of tissue he had wasted in merely a year and the suspicious white in them—what a sad life.
Elliot was looking for clues. Again with the help of his extraordinary power, he realized that he needed to glance at the blank papers ten times to trigger the mechanism. Elliot did just that. Then, he saw a black whirlpool opening up in the center of the two pages. Whatever it was, it tried to pull his subconscious into another place that he could see was full of monsters. Hope asked whether he wanted to pay 10000 units of the essence of life to break free from the attractive force of the curse that was pulling his consciousness into the alternate space or not, but Elliot declined.
He let the mysterious force carry his consciousness into the other side, which was full of monsters.
[You've entered the dark battlefield!]
