Chapter 227: The serpent fights back. (grand finale!) (1/2)
”Seventh innate racial trait: Blood escape.” By burning several units of its essence blood, something it only had a limited quantity of, the serpentine devil let its avatar use one of its most powerful moves.
The name itself was enough to tell Elliot and the onlookers that it was about to escape from his trap somehow
”Oh no, you don't!”
Elliot had no intention of letting it escape, so he decided to suppress it by giving another pounding to its face.
However, something inexplicable happened, causing his mood to turn sour.
Right at the moment when Elliot's sixty-ninth slap was going to land on the serpentine devil's face, its body had turned into a mist of blood.
Elliot's attack missed its target.
The blood mist was something intangible, and even his chains weren't able to keep it immobilized, much less his hands.
”Hahaha!”
The serpentine devil was finally free from its restraints!
”Just wait and see how I make you regret not killing me when you had the chance!”
While throwing out these threatening words, the bloody mist shot away from Elliot's avatar, heading towards Grace, Lucy, Oliver, and the beasts belonging to the nightmare region. Eventually, the bloody mist solidified back t the body of the titan.
”What a sore loser.” The onlookers could tell what it was planning to do. Since it couldn't harm Elliot, it decided to go after his companions and kill them to make him regret his actions. It was a cheap trick, but they didn't expect anything less from a major villain like the serpentine devil.
Elliot hadn't expected it to pull out such a move, but he wasn't stunned to the point of not coming to a decision.
”No matter what trick you use, it will all be useless.
”Serpentine Devil, you can't escape me!”
Elliot's avatar stood up. Then, everyone saw magnificent wings that were glittering in gold sprouting out of his back. They were several dozens of meters wide and carried immense might.
Whoosh!
With a single flap of his wings, huge gusts of wind blasted outward as the celestial giant shot towards the titan with speed surpassing sound. He covered a considerable distance in the millionth of a second and nearly caught up to the serpentine devil.
His murderous gaze was so threatening that the serpent felt something stabbing into its back, and it turned its head around to see what was making it feel this way and saw that Elliot had already caught up to it.
”Holy fuck!”
Those words escaped its mouth because Elliot's avatar suddenly vanished from its field of vision.
”Where did he go?”
It came to a temporary halt, and it turned its head here and there in search of Elliot but failed to find him.
