Chapter 183: Opening the first energy channel! (1/2)

One can say that the Northern Duke of Dark Starlight hadn't come across someone like Elliot in their life.

Another notification soon popped up in his mind, telling him that he had gained internal vision—an ability that allows one to peek inside of them. He immediately turned to focus on the changes in his body. He noticed that he had gotten several pounds heavier but thought nothing much of it.

Not just that, there were grey blues lines in his body, one too similar to a person's vein. Each of them had an entrance in front of them, closed and waiting for him to open them. With a single glance, he realized that they must be a magician's energy channel. He could also feel a golden line. It was the celestial energy channel! There was a blue line there too.

”How does a magician open their energy channels?” Elliot hadn't read many records related to this subject, so he was a bit clueless, appearing like a chicken in a wide field.

[I believe that one must direct magic energy towards the entrance of one of them and force it open. However, if too much force is used, one might end up destroying or damaging it, causing immense pain and crippling their potential. I advise the Champion to look for some books about this subject before taking any action.]

”Ah, I guess I've no choice.” Elliot sighed. He regretted not spending time in the library, reading about stuff. In the classes, the instructors were still going on about lectures useful to brats in the magical realm and not him.

”Well, at least I can open one of them.” A needle appeared in between his slender, white, but crude fingers. He got it as a reward for becoming the champion of the tournament. The item held the ability to open a magician's energy channel. He just needed to poke the entrance with its tip.

”Thanks to the internal vision technique, I already know where the entrance to my energy channels is. Though, the needle only has enough medicinal power to open one of them. Which one's the best choice?”

Elliot pondered for a few moments. In the end, he decided to strengthen his strong point. By opening the energy channel in any one of his legs, he would be able to temporarily increase his speed. How does that work? He didn't know! But he had heard about it, and he believed he would soon find out by experiencing it himself.

He picked up the needle and brutally stabbed it three inches below his thigh. Its tip pierced through his skin and touched at the entrance of a blue line that was right centimeters under his flesh. In the very next moment, a great amount of medicinal essence surged out of its tip, smashing onto the entrance of the energy channel.

Bam!

The force was great enough to blast open the entrance but several cracks formed on the energy channel, bringing him immense pain, making him feel as if a vicious person had used a dagger to cut him seven times. Of course, he winced in pain. However, his eyes widened as the pain vanished. A part of the medicinal essence enveloped his energy channel, healing the cracks. The rest of it went inside of it through the open entrance, nourishing it. At first, it looked like a withered Persimmon, but thanks to the nourishing provided by the medicinal essence, it quickly expanded to look like a healthy one.
