Chapter 110: Elliots reason! (2/2)

”Why didn't you attack me? You could have defeated me if you suddenly launched an attack on your shadow when I became one with your shadow. Why did you show me mercy and waited for this long? Why did you let me use you to eliminate the other participants? Why did you allow me to climb to this position?” Sylas asked a bunch of questions, looking at Elliot with confusion in his eyes, unable to understand why he didn't do anything against him.

It would have made sense if Elliot didn't know that he was hiding in his shadow. But after finding out that he did know that he was hiding in his shadow but still didn't attack to eliminate him, Sylas felt confused out of his mind.

”You saved me on the day of our high school graduation, remember? When I was the weakest, no one gave a fuck about me. Although the teachers and students could make out that Alexander and his friend were out to get me, none of them bothered to do anything about it. After all, why would anyone cares whether a roadside dog lives or die? Naturally, Alexander took it upon his own hand to crush the weak dog I was. He knew that even if he gets caught after killing me, the association wouldn't badly punish someone with a promising future like him. If it weren't for you, I would have died under Alexander's hands. It might not mean a lot to you, but I reached so far because I managed to live through that day. I helped you to repay a part of your grace, and If you want to win this tournament, then I will step down to clear the debt I owe you.” Elliot said without a single trace of pity in his voice.

He never pitied himself, and he never would.

He was just trying to tell someone, who had grown distant with him over the years, that he didn't take action against him not because he had ulterior motives but because he was trying to repay a debt of gratitude.

Each of his words hit the hearts of the onlookers, especially Lisa and Nina. One of them was his childhood friend, yet she wasn't there when he, needed her the most, when he was about to die under someone's hands.

”I hope he can forgive me for abandoning him for all those years,” Nina said in a low voice, sadness brimming in her eyes.

Headmaster Gerald, however, heard her words as he was sitting close to her and also had a hearing far better than anyone on the Emerald Mountain.

He patted her on the head, then gently said, ”It's not your fault. If someone's to be blamed, then it's your parents. They went against the wishes of your grandfather and even forcefully took you away.”

”Thank you, grandpa. I'm fine now.” Nina said.

She erased any thoughts of trying to win his heart, not only because she failed him, but also because of some personal reasons.

Headmaster Gerald sighed, feeling sad for her sake.

Lisa, on the other hand, felt rage at the bastard that dared to try to kill her beloved.

”Damn that Alexander bastard! Good thing he is already sickly. Otherwise, I would have crippled him!” Lisa cursed Alexander in her mind for some moments before calming down.

Then, she looked at Elliot.

”If only I had met him earlier, I would have given the world to him!” Lisa subconsciously blurted out her thoughts, unaware that the people nearby have heard her embarrassing words.

Theo heard her words, then rolled his eyes. Lisa was Elliot's fortune that came because the golden glow of glory replaced the dark glow of death surrounding Elliot's body for some impeccable reasons. If it hadn't happened, then Lisa wouldn't have encountered Elliot, and even if she did, she wouldn't have given a damn about him.

”Why are you rolling your eyes?” John asked while looking at Theo.

”Who knows?” Theo said before hanging his hands behind his head and looking at the conformation between the two friends in the arena.
