Chapter 23: No Longer the weakest! (2/2)

<Rewards: 50 units of the essence of life, Upper section of the Challenger Key, The Right to use the Authority of Life on Alexander>

”You've got to be kidding me.” Elliot laughed in a low, voice standing a few meters away from John and Alexander, thinking that he was lucky to have received such a trial.

He wanted to get even with Alexander ever since he awakened, but he hadn't encountered him till now.

The moment he did, he received a trial to beat his ass in order to get rewards.

Now, he will not only feel better from beating him black and blue but also get rewarded!

What a lucky day!

What a great world!

”Please let me go,” John begged Alexander with a pitiful look on his face.

”I told you to hand me your quantum card, so why didn't you just obediently handed it over to me? Do you think I'm a joke? Or had you forgotten you're merely a Hollow, a slave that can be roughed up by awakened magicians, like, me, after joining the Magician Academy?” Alexander angry voice boomed out. He was pissed off by what Silas did to him yesterday, and now he was venting his anger on John.

”Please just take my card and let me go,” John said in a shaky voice as he took out his quantum card and raised it towards Alexander.

”Don't you dare tell me what to do!” Alexander said as he launched an attack amplified by his wind ability towards the messed-up boy.

John's eyes closed in terror as he feared for his life, knowing full well that he would be severely injured if Alexander's fist with wind wisps swirling around it connects with his body.

”Alexander, give it a rest, will ya.”

Just as his fist was going to hit John's head, a voice sounded in their ears before a hand made out of the essence of life grabbed Alexander's fist, stopping it an inch away from hitting John.

”What? Who the hell has enough strength to stop my fist empowered by my ability so easily?” Alexander's eyes widened in surprise, and he turned to look at the source of the voice almost immediately, only to see Elliot, the weakest magician, looking down at him, disdain vivid in his eyes.
