Chapter 11: Memory Loss? (1/2)
”Shun? Hmm, not bad...” Arion said as he slowly nodded.
”Not bad? There is nothing wrong with that name,” Shun grumbled.
Arion shrugged his shoulders and said with a smile, ”Relax, I didn't say there was anything wrong.”
Arion had no idea why, but he felt like he was getting carried by some childish feelings like wanting to get back at Shun for everything. He wondered if this was because he was in the body of a sixteen-year-old kid.
Although his personality in his previous life was laid back, he doesn't remember trying to get even with kids after being a grown-up.
Shun snorted and asked, ”Hmph, what is your name then? Must be a world-shattering name.”
Arion proudly raised his nose in the air and said, ”Arion. Arion Elsar.” If there was one thing Arion was glad about in this life, it was his name.
'Sister Mei surely is good at naming,' Arion thought.
”What a coincidence. You have the name of my dog. Could you possibly be its relative?” Shun asked in a thoughtful tone.
Arion clenched his fists, feeling like bashing Shun's ridiculously handsome face.
He then took a deep breath and said in a calm tone, ”I don't have the energy to waste with kids like you nor stoop to your level.”
Hearing Arion calling him a 'kid' again and again ticked off a certain spot in his heart, ”Hey, you—” Shun swallowed his words upon noticing that someone was coming to the room.
Arion was surprised why this big-mouthed kid suddenly sealed his lips.
”What's going on here?” Mei's beautiful voice sounded behind Arion's ears, and he turned around with an ecstatic expression.
”Sister Mei, this guy woke up,” Arion said as he pointed towards Shun.
Shun was surprised to see an awe-inspiring beauty and felt that she looked somewhat familiar for some reason.
”Oh, are you feeling okay?” Mei asked Shun.
Shun nodded, ”Yes, but I still feel soreness and fatigue all over my body.”
”That's natural. You were in a very injured state. If you were not a strong Defier, you would have died by falling from such a height. Thinking about that, how did you end up falling from the sky, and where did you come from?” Mei asked in simple curiosity.
Shun scratched his temple as he said, ”To be honest, I don't know, and my memories seem like a blur. All I remember is getting chased by some people, and the next thing I know, I am already lying on a mattress in an unfamiliar place. You have my thanks for saving me.”
'Hmph, why is this kid now acting so polite to her? Must be a simp,' Arion snorted inwardly.
However, Arion had no idea that Shun was sincerely thanking her since he knew he would have been a goner if not for getting saved at the right time.
Mei smiled, ”There is no need for that. You should thank Arion. Only because of him was I able to save you. Otherwise, the river would have carried away your body. He crawled on the ground and dragged your body away from the river.”
