Later, Ye Fei’s parents disappeared on the battlefield. Qing Kui’s family felt sorry for him because he had no one to rely on, so they treated him even better. Usually, no matter what good things there were, they would think of bringing him a portion.

It was as if they had already treated him as one of their own.

Even Qing Kui often joked that she would protect Ye Fei and make sure that Ye Fei didn’t hold back when he was wronged. She had to tell her that she would help him vent his anger.

“It’s because of Whitey… I don’t know what’s wrong with it lately, but its temper has become very irritable. It used to be very docile and obedient, but now it’s like eating dynamite, and it gets angry at even the slightest movement.”
