-12 Chapter Six (1/2)

+++Nyx+++

”Then why did you save me when you wanted me dead?”

The question échoed in head as I stared into the dark abyss in front of me. But suddenly she broke her gaze.

I take one more glance at her as I longed for her to look at me. To stare at me with curiosity. She was wearing a black dress that fitted her shape so well it must have been specially made for just her. I was tight around her body and I couldn't help but stare.

She would probably even look good if she was wearing dirty sack, I thought to myself.

”What are staring at? she whispered as a blush rushed to her cheeks.

”Nothing,” I mumbled. She smirked obviously not believing what I said. I felt hot under her gaze and it took all my might to stop me from blushing in embarrassment.

”What are smirking at?”

”What, nothing,” she mimicked.

”How dare-”

”Look out!” She screamed, pulling out her lint sword before rushing towards that cool old lady from the day before. I rushed after her before I realised what I was doing and cautioned myself and watched instead.

They were so similar. They looked the same and fought with the same techniques. It was like they were thinking the same thing all the time.

Maybe I wrong about her being her grandmother maybe she's her mother, but she looks a bit too old to be her mum. And didn't dad say we killed her parents, however he also thought he killed her, maybe he killed someone else and thought it was her mum.

She fell gracefully and I was broken from my thoughts. I looked up to see her and her companion on the floor and a punk pointing a gun at them.

”Put that gun down, now!”

”Master Nyx, what do you mean, they are our prey, we need to kill them?”

”I said put it down.”

”Oh I get it, you want to kill them yourself so your father will finally realise you are not worthless and treat you like the human being you are, fine by me, I never agreed with how he treats you anyway.”

Oh, he didn't just say that. In front of her. My face flushed.

”You just crossed a line punk,” I whispered shooting him down.

”We need to get moving fast.”

”We?”

”Well you see butterfly, after having to save you twice, I am not letting you out of my sight.”

”Aren't you the son of-” her mother/ grandmother, I haven't really decided yet, stated.

”What, are you saying I can't save you two because my dad wants you dead?”

”No, but why?”

”I asked him the same question.”

”Look, I am not my dad and if it makes you any better I wasn't saving you, I was saving her.”

”But isn't she what this is all about?”

”Yeah but... Can you please tell your mum or grandma, whatever she is, to stop asking questions?”

”Grandma, and don't you dare be rude to her.” she snapped, rage clear in her voice.

”Ok, whatever, now can we please get moving before anyone sees us and tells my dad. ”

”Come on grandma, don't worry he can be really sweet when you get past the hundred layers of annoyingness,” she added causing me my face flush once more.

”Did you just call me sweet? I am not sweet. ” I declared firmly.

”No, I said you can be sweet after you get past the layers of annoyingness.”

”Same thing.”

Minutes of silence trickled by as we sneaked through the woods. My heart raced as each second passed by.

”Your gran is really cool for an old lady, she just asks too much questions.” I broke eery silence that hung upon us like a dark cloud.

”Oh thanks dear.”

Dear, no one has ever called me that before.

”You are welcome, erm, I don't really know what to call you.”

”Oh just call me gran or grandma, I've never been one for fancy titles” she said smiling.

She really is lovely lady. Are all grandmothers like this?

”Wow, I've never really had a grandmother before but sure as long as she is ok with it, are you okay with that?” I asked directing the question to her granddaughter.
