Chapter 526 - Tale of Rain Part 8 (2/2)

He turned to the fuming Princess. ”It seems I have to reject your offer.”

This woman was harping on about going somewhere with him.

”I see it seems you already have other engagements, it cannot be helped. I shall ask another time. Good day to you.” With those words said the girl rushed off.

Despite the polite reply, Rhys did not miss that brief hostile gaze towards Lyn. It seems he will have to do something there. His gaze fell on his surroundings, spotting movement in the bushes Rhys called out.

”Hassen.”

”Understood.” Hassen replied.

No further instruction but Rhys knew that the man understood.

It did not take them long before he reached the familiar corridors of his room. Noticing how cold Lyn was he decided to take a quick short cut which involved jumping on several rooftops. He opened the door to his room and laid the girl down on the large western style bed.

”I'm not sleepy!”

”You're not?” Pardon me but you look so ugly with those eyebags.

Lyn hits him with a pillow and he sighed. ”You need to rest properly. What if you get sick again?”

He does not want her to fall sick now of all times since it is difficult to spend time with her. With all those nobles taking advantage of his fathers absence, it is a chaotic time in the palace- his thoughts broke off when Lyn extended her hands out.

”Give me your hand.”

”Just my hand?”

Lyn nodded and he sighed. This girl is so whimsical at times but he is gradually adjusting. Rhys extended his right hand out and Lyn brought it to her face.

Damn what sort of trial is God subjecting his heart to? This is no good at all. Lyn is adorable, right now he wants-- Rhys paused and shook his head. This girl is so young, she probably has no idea what is actually going on.

”Have you received any letters from home lately?” Rhys heard some rumors regarding King Osamus' situation. It does not look very good over there and it seems like a war can break out at any minute now. So he wanted to see if he is still sending letters to his daughter.

”En! Big brother sent me some.”

Big brother… Rhys paused. Is it the second Prince? The First Prince is rumoured to be cold hearted, he doubted the man would take time to send his youngest sister a letter.

”You seem happy.”

Rhys was under the impression that she was not close with her family members.

”Un, brother rarely speaks to me but since he learned I was here he communicates with me often.”

At that comment Rhys frowned. That is strange indeed. It's almost like a warning of some kind. Does King Osamu think he will die? At the very least they will strip him of his title for that offence but they can't kill him, he is still the King, still a member of nobility. Why cant he shake this bad feeling?

His thoughts broke off when Lyn suddenly sat up, she buried her face in his arms. Why is she acting all cute? ”What is it?”

”Nothing.”

”I see.”
