”No no you are quite well informed. Our family does deal with dark magic. But it is a bit embarrassing to say but other than the first and fifth prince nobody else is compatible with it.”
”The fifth Prince?”Osma repeated.
”Ah yes the last time you came here it was before the fifth prince was born, a little over seven years ago.”
”Apologies I have not been able to..”
”It's understandable since you are the King.” He trailed off. ”The fifth prince is a peculiar boy.”
”Peculiar?”
”Yes, he is actually quite famous for not having any desire towards the throne. While the other brothers have a peace standing, the ones who come later usually want the throne. The fourth prince is an example for that. But young master Rhys is not interested. He is the one with the largest backing and managed to obtain the trust of his maternal family. He is the only person who can compete with the first prince. An extremely gifted child, he can do everything easily studies, martial arts, magic - it did not take him long for him to learn these things. He even has the ability to rule despite being so young. But he does not desire the throne at all.”
As the old man explained this Osma noted how troubled he looked. Indeed such a gifted and talented child not wanting the throne is strange.
Even if he serves his brother the first prince, his talents will overshadow him. It would look worse later on when his brother actually becomes the King.
”So his affinity to dark magic is higher than the first prince?”
”Actually he only uses dark arts so I believe he will be able to help the girl. Their ages are similar too so while she remains here they can be friends.”
”Indeed that will certainly help.” Osma trailed off. ”But even if I solve my problems and take her back she will have problems in the future.”
Even if that young child helps Lyn out, the dark magic will not disappear completely.
”In the event something goes wrong I believe you should send her to Junlan church.”
”The place that is on neutral grounds?” Osma was very familiar with the place since his wife used to go there a lot when she was still a Princess and him a Prince.
”Yes that child will learn to control her ability and the church can determine whether it is too dangerous. Remember dark magic can be used for good.”
Osama sighed. ”Indeed I almost forgot about that.” So many people witnessed what happened when the child was born and it caused quite the disturbance. A newborn that could not yet walk simply raised her hand and that dark magic.. It was a disturbing sight.
”Does the girl have a partner?”
”It seems her royal mark resonated with the second Prince of the Wind Kingdom. They have been engaged since a year ago.”
The procedure took longer than normal due to what happened but those people finally approved. It seemed the young lad was the one who insisted on it.
”Does she really have to go there?” How could he be cruel enough to send his daughter away when she is only five years old? Lyn has done nothing wrong, Why does she have to leave?
”With your current stance you won't be able to protect her. It is already good enough that the royal family isn't being charged for treason, and they only think you did it.”
