Chapter 504 - I need to make a move (2/2)

Now that things are official there is something different. It's not that innocent feeling that's for sure. Lyn however was no expert in romance so she had no idea what this feeling was.

”What are you thinking Lyn?”

Lyn doesn't say anything and further buries her head on Rhy's chest. So warm.

”You must be tired. It's okay, go back to sleep.”

She lifted her head to look up at him. ”Yuhi, do you love me?”

Rhys looked at her strangely, a look that said, 'why are you asking now?' But it was brief since their eyes met directly and his expression changed.

He gently caressed her cheek with his palm. ”I love you Lyn. So, you don't have to worry about anything. It'll be difficult to deal with your family, and the other elites. But I won't let them get in our way now. I'll be with you forever, so I'll make sure to convey it to them properly this time. ”

Rhys is so unfair at times. If he says stuff like that, how on earth is she supposed to get angry? Or even lecture him for being reckless ?

Lyn leaned into his palm. ”I am tired Rhys so very tired.”

Lyn understands that he knows that her tiredness has nothing to do with her being sleepy. She's tired already, of all this. She is tired of all this pain and conflict.

”Do you want to do anything?” Rhys asked her in a kinder tone.

Despite his vague wording, Lyn understood what he wanted. By now her family should have left but her body felt drained due to yesterday's activities. She traced the exposed part of his chest with her fingers. ”Rhys, what did you tell Kazuya and Allen?”

She found it hard to believe that they would leave without saying anything.

Rhys chuckled. ”I didn't do anything, but they saw the marks you left me.”

Her cheeks coloured when she realized what he meant. She pulled her hands away. ”On second thoughts, I will read over the articles I found last night.”

She left the bed and walked over to the bedside table.

The moment she proceeded to sit down, Rhys hugged her from the back. She froze and felt her heart beat speed up when his lips grazed against her ear.

”Are you mad my love?”

She bit her lip. ”You know I can't get mad at you for long.” Lyn turned around. ”I am adjusting now, so you don't have to hold back as much anymore.”

At that comment she watched as his gaze dimmed. Eh? She thought he would be happy, why does he look mad? Rhys pulled away from her and picked up his pipe from the bedside table.

She watched as he brought it to her lips and small wisps of smoke appeared from the pipe.

For a moment nobody spoke and Lyn grew anxious. Was it wrong for her to say that? Its not like she does not understand what it means.

After spending this much time together, Lyn understood what she was getting into here. She is no longer as naive as she once was when it comes to these matters.

But for Rhys maybe nothing has changed at all? Maybe he still thinks of her as the same naive girl as before? Lyn bit her lip. This relationship has to move forward somehow.

Since this trip started, Lyn realized many things about Rhys that she did not realize before. Now that it has come to this stage, she needs to make a move otherwise things will remain stagnant. She cannot afford to waste anymore time.
