Chapter 429 - Web of Lies Part 2 (1/2)

Rhys, however, couldn't let this woman know the truth. Princess Kaede came here for the inspection most-likely. If that's the case, then everything he says and does she will report it. For a while, it seems like he will have to distance himself from meeting Lyn in the open. Rhys knew he couldn't completely cut himself off from meeting her.

He felt Kaede place kisses on his neck, and he sighed. ”Let's go inside; we shouldn't do this here.”

”Fine, but Rhys. You're more attached than I thought.”

”I told you already; she means nothing to me.”

”Then prove it.”

At that comment, Rhys knew better than to say anymore. He scooped the girl up in his arms and turned on his heel to leave. He should finish this quickly. However, the moment he picked her up, Kaede's arms went around his neck again, and she leaned forward. Rhys bent down and kissed her. Rhys did not know how long he kissed her for, but he knew someone saw.

If Lyn hears about this, would she get hurt?

.....

3:00 am

Is Lyn fast asleep yet? Rhys quickly stood up and got dressed. It won't do any harm to check on her, besides a quick peek will do. He glanced over at Kaede, who was fast asleep on the bed. The sweat still clung to his body and traces of what they did. He wanted to erase all the evidence before he met with Lyn again. However, 'it's already late, he doesn't want to miss her.'

He quickly made his mind up and bolted out of doors. It should be fine; she won't notice. He doubts Lyn is even awake now. It didn't take long for Rhys to arrive at the girls, then again, he developed a shortcut to come here as quickly as possible.

It was quiet as ever, Rhys stepped into the courtyard. A place like this doesn't suit her, it's beautiful and enchanting - but it's far too lonely.

Earlier, it felt like he heard her voice; she was asking for someone. The message wasn't for him, specifically. However, he felt the pain behind her emotions. He wanted nothing more than to leave Kaede earlier and go to her. However, he saw the dangerous look in the woman's eyes.

Rhys crossed the courtyard quickly and eventually arrived in front of the girl's chambers. The outside looked dreary and abandoned, like it usually did. Large cobwebs hung across the roof, and the roof looked like it would collapse. Rhys paused and examined the damage. It seems like decorating the inside interior alone won't do any good. He ought to do something about the outside too, Rhys reached out and opened the door, but the moment he did - the door fell apart.

He swiftly dodged the broken door that fell on the ground with a thud. Lyn needs a new door, too. It would be unsafe to leave it this way, but he can deal with it later. He wanted to make sure Lyn was okay. As Rhys entered the room, though, he noticed how quiet it was and frowned. Is she even here? He opened the curtain to her bedroom chambers, only to find her bed empty.
