Chapter 386 - Revolve (2/2)
”Even so, you came here pretty quickly. Finished your business with Allen?”
Arthur nodded and massaged the temple of his forehead with his fingers. ”But after staying up endlessly for weeks now. I must say that even I am losing some of my energy.”
Ah, she indeed spottrf the tired features of his expression right away. Oh, he has grey eye bags; it's an unusual sight for him. Lyn reached over and patted his hair, ”There there.”
”You really don't change. No matter how much time passes,” Arthur mumbled. ”Still a strange kid.”
Lyn smiles, ” Did you want me to change so badly?”
”Heh.”
..
In the end, the two of them sat down on the bench, right beside the railing area, which gave them a perfect view of the ocean. Not too far from them was the indoor stadium venue where a major competition will take place.
Today, again, a vast majority will compete, but the ones in the center of everyone's attention is Kazuya and Rhys match. It's still quite odd that those two ended up paring up with each other even though it was quite apparent that they'd do so eventually.
Their personalities clash quite often, that's probably why she was finding it difficult to picture. But then again, the same went for Mother and Father, yet they somehow managed to work it out. Mother didn't like father at the start either... At least that was the story she heard.
Pupillam too disliked Rhys and Kazuya, but things differ now. That's right; there seemed to be this silent tension amongst everyone before.
But now everybody is together. There are no longer signs of such things anymore.
They are all shining brightly now that they've come together. Yet, something is missing still.
”You seem distracted,” Arthur commented.
”Ah…” she trails off, ”No, I'm just thinking back to what happened then..”
What is she doing? She sounds stupid. Clearly, Arthur could see right through her, ”There is no need to pretend. You're worried about them, are you not? You thought they'd be able to achieve things if you remained distance. Yet even with that, they're finding it difficult to do.”
Lyn averts her gaze, ”…I knew it would be difficult. But…”. The fact that there's barely any light showing, she was worried.
”The stages of magic. Females have quite a few, but the one that is commonly known is the angel light magic. Yet, those fall under categories too. For males, it is the color they emit, their natural aura - silver, gold, and platinum. Yet they cannot even achieve that much correct?” Arthur clarified.
Lyn managed a nod, ”It's still different for male magic. It has not evolved as much yet. It's still not up to match. No, they were up to match during mother's generation. Yet now there are no signs of it at all. Mother knew that it would diminish once she's gone, and that's why she left that role to me. I didn't think I'd find anyone. Yet, one by one, I gathered them all together.”
She didn't think she could fulfill the task, especially with her current situations. But gradually, Lyn came into contact with those whom she believed could carry it out.
”I want to shape it, even if I have to do so as a Princess.”
Arthur listened to her without interrupting until that comment, ” I see. I wonder why you did nothing right away. Your insecurities and fears aside. It was because of this promise…for their sake.”
Lyn closes her eyes and opens them again. ” Initially, I had every intention of just gathering them, and once they got started. I was supposed to leave. Because me staying beside them would hinder their growth, not help. Yet, along the way, I became far too attached…and as a result, everything right now is a mess.”
