Chapter 351 - Reunion (2/2)
”Well, he told me to wait for a bit, and I just left. So I suppose in a sense, yes, I did.”
”You'll get in trouble.”
”I don't care.”
And Kazuya knew that she didn't care at all. Whether she gets in trouble or not, Lyn won't trade this moment for anything in the world. It always struck him as odd that the girl he likes returned his feelings. Ever since he was younger, Kazuya already classified the word happiness as something foreign. A person like him does not deserve happiness, nor does he expect to feel the same warmth as other people.
Whenever he saw those couples in the streets, Kazuya always felt uneasy. It felt like they constantly made him to watch a play about a life he could never have. He brushed his fingers across her cheeks; she's thinner than he last remembered. A lot paler too, didn't she go to her brother to get better? This was one of the reasons Rhys gave him to persuade him to stop his search.
While he stopped the search officially, the one involving Prince Andrew's men, it didn't stop him from conducting his search when nobody else was looking.
”Kazuya,” Lyn pouted. ”We haven't met in so long, but you aren't paying attention to me... Should I kiss him again...”
A chuckle escaped his lips, what is she thinking?
”I don't mind. Kisses, Lyn.”
Because he didn't mind, he hasn't seen her in so many days, so many hours and minutes have gone by. He wanted to make up that lost time. If kissing would make things better, then he would let her do that.
Lyn smiled, ”But you know, I'd like to talk to.”
”Alright,” Kazuya agreed. ”Answer my question. Why do you look so thin? You've lost a lot of weight.”
”I wanted to meet with you so badly.”
The words barely left Lyn's lips since she burst into tears. Huh? Wait what? Wait a minute? Kazuya stared at the girl dumbfounded. He was always weak when it came to people crying in front of him. He never knew what to do. There was one thing he could never stand more than anything. Those who cried because they had hidden motives. Those who faked their tears, and yet people believed them. Lyn wasn't one of those people, Kazuya knew that better than anyone. But it still left him uncomfortable.
Hesitantly Kazuya wiped the girl's tears with his fingers. ”Don't cry, Lyn.”
”I missed you so much, Kazuya.”
It pained him whenever she cried because he knew her tears were genuine. ”I missed you too,” Kazuya squeezed her hands. ”Come back with me?” He knew it was too much to ask, but it wouldn't do him any harm to try. Besides, at the end of the day, it would be her choice. She is the only one who can decide who she wants to be with.
Sure enough, right after he asked this question, a complicated look emerged on the girl's face. He didn't ask her this so it would trouble her. Kazuya was about to tell her to forget it when Lyn spoke up.
”I'd like to go with you, Kazuya. But I'm worried about my brother. It seems like he's planning something large, I want to be there to see what it is.”
