”It's your fault.”

Because it is, Rhys went through the trouble of bringing her to a place where she could recuperate, and yet this man went ahead and ruined things. Then again, if she stayed with Rhys, he would have tried to take advantage of her again. So, maybe this is better.

Lyn glanced over and spotted pale blonde leaning on the tree. She blinked, ”Zenith?”

He awkwardly made his way over.

Lyn knows it's something serious rather than wanting to see her or something romantic or even something practical as discussing the signs. Because usually, you'd send a message beforehand after all. Indeed, when she saw his hand covered in bandages, her gaze darkened, ”Already?”

Zenith nodded, ”They're moving fast. Since I had guards with me at that time, this is the only damage that I suffered. But they're suddenly making their aims clear. Although they've been attacking Princess Lethia's circle this entire time, it's suddenly become a direct confrontation. Though just from one attack, I can't tell if it's me they want.”

”In this case, the current conflict surrounding the Ichinose household links more with you, Prince Zenith.” Lyn took a deep breath, ”Back then father used to tell me to be wary about that family. When I asked him why he told me quite the tale.”

”Your father. If it's from that person, I'm sure it's worthwhile listening to.”

The weather in that area is terrible, leading to crops being unable to grow; the lands are dry even with the constant rainfall. The council gave the Tenka family the duty to protect the people there. However, they slowly started to exploit their power.

The Tenka household may claim the entire area. But, they are a mere household; they cannot measure up to the royal family. Other lords voiced their disrespect towards the family. While this type of thing happens all the time, due to the growing unrest, they could not ignore it. The council took measures to investigate by sending a ranking inspector and eventually found out the source of turmoil. Your mother, Queen Shouko, became the inspector, and the Tenka family's power was cut off,” Lyn said with a troubled look on her face.

Queen Shoko determined that the Tenka family was abusing their power. Had it been a regular inspector, they could have gotten away due to bribery. So when Queen Shoko came personally, those people were caught off guard. They did not expect somebody of her level would trouble herself with the case.
