Chapter 296 - Visit (2/2)

A chuckle from the doorway disrupted his thoughts. Andrew did not need to look over to know who it was. ”Leave.”

”Take it easy. I brought you some interesting news. I met your sister in town today.”

”Lethia? She shouldn't be here.”

Ralph chuckled, ”The second Princess.”

At that comment, Andrew immediately froze, ”Lyn?”

”Yes, she looks exactly like you. But as for her temperament, it's hard to say considering how she couldn't save herself from almost being kidnapped.”

Andrew stood up and grabbed Ralphs's collar, ”You better not be joking with me.”

”Why would I joke?”

Damn, what are the people in the church doing?

Present

”Big brother!!” a cheerful voice greeted him. Andrew looked up.

His sister had grown a lot taller than he last saw her, but Lyn still regained that childlike innocence.

”Come over.”

Lyn nodded happily and made her way over. He reached over and patted her hair. ”Have you been good and following all the rules here?” It was a stupid question. While he's been quite busy, Andrew makes sure to read the reports from the head of the church.

At that comment, Lyn averted her gaze. It was brief, but he saw it. So she did something she shouldn't have. She went into town... His gaze dimmed at the thought. What was she doing? And where is that man Ralph was talking about? Is it a member of the church that took her out? As these questions ran through his mind, he saw how his sister was looking at him.

”Big brother, we haven't seen each other for a long time. But you're too quiet...”

He was never a talkative person, to begin with. However, Andrew always made sure that he spoke more than usual whenever he was with this sister of his. The reason being was because Andrew understood how lonely the girl was.

”I apologize. The weather seems pleasant today, shall we go on a stroll?”

Lyn's eyes brightened, ”Okay, brother!”

...

Andrew regretted the stroll thing a moment later. When they stepped outside, it was clearly cold despite it being night; however, it was still fairly light out. ”Watch your step,” Andrew told the girl.

”Okay.”

Trees. And even more trees. Indeed the second they stepped out and went even further, they were greeted by the sight of nothing but greenery.

Yet Andrew is thinking that somehow it is not as dull-looking like before. In fact, when he looks around now, it's rather pleasant. Who would have thought that he would grow accustomed to such a sight? Upon arriving at a hill, Lyn rushes up and shuts her eyes, ”It feels so nice. I would love it if it stayed this warm forever. Ah, but that would pose a problem. Since taking baths on cold days are the best.”

”You like the cold still?”

Lyn smiles, ”En, I do. But when it's warm like this, you get a carefree sort of feeling, don't you?”

”I suppose.”

She really is fond of doing stuff like this, isn't she? Is it just his imagination, though, or is she even stranger than before? ”I shall fetch you soon properly to go back home,” Andrew murmured.

Lyn smiled, ”I know big brother wouldn't just leave me here.”

Why does she have so much faith in him? He reached out to pat her hair, but Lyn ran into his arms. ”I've missed you, big brother..”

People have always told him that he was a cold-hearted person. Indeed, for a long time, he thought the same. But after he got to know his sister, Andrew realized he had a soft spot for her.

”I shall bring you back home without fail. Please bear with me for a bit longer.” Andrew wanted nothing more than to take her away right this moment. If he could then...

”How much longer, brother? Um, I have to meet my fiance, right?”
