Chapter 237 - Cards (1/2)
A girl like her who was raised in a warrior household does not deserve to have a typical love story like ordinary girls. Whether or not she was a commoner or somebody who rose to power. Pupillam always felt that her destiny was set in stone, ”Why did you come here?”
”I came here to flirt with you,” Amakaze looked towards the other soldiers who were looking over at her curiously. ”Since it's already so late I don't think it's a good idea to talk outside. How about we head to my room?”
However, she stared at him with the same indifferent eyes as usual, ”What did you want to tell me?”
”Lady Pupillam you should at least have some reaction when someone's flirting with you.”
”Im sure, your flirting skills aren't of such a minor level,” Pupillam stated. If he wanted to, he could have said something cheesy sounding in front of the guards just now. Yet he insisted on taking her away from the others first.
”I guess you must have heard something from somewhere.”
”I hear a lot from the aristocrats ladies.”
Why they found the need to tell her, even now Pupillam did not understand at all. She was not interested in her fellow female's pointless gossip; she did not see the need to spend so much time speaking about other people.
”These rumors intrigue me,” Amakaze said this with a sly smile on his face, ”Do you believe in them?”
Rumors, huh? Pupillam sighed, but before she could get another word out. A frantic looking Kyouya appeared before her.
”Pupillam, you must come quickly,”
”Did something happen to the Princess?”
”No,” Kyouya shook his head, ”Prince Andrew summons you.”
The Prince?
..
-Manor-
”Raise your head.”
Pupillam hesitantly did so, ”I hear the counts son, the second son sent you a proposal. Your father appears to have declined it, but the choice is yours at the end of the day.”
”...”
”What is your response?”
Huh? Did he summon her all the way out here to hear her reply? Pupillam had to admit that she was perplexed. It's not like him to do something like this, then again sometimes Pupillam wondered if she really knew this man at all.
”I asked him to give me time to think things through, with the Princess current situation. I cannot think about myself.”
”You should accept it.”
At that comment, her eyes widened, she felt a sharp pain in her heart. ”It would be better for me if you did so.”
”Your wife...”
”She seemed to have a strange habit of visiting the town often. She heard the stories,” Andrew sighed, ”While it is already an event of the mere past, she is fretting about it too much.”
”I see.”
”Accept it, even if it is for show.”
Pupillam could only numbly nod her head. What else could she say? What can she say? When it came to whatever she wanted, this person has never considered it. Is this his way of pushing her away? What an inconsiderate man.
”I shall prepare a small banquet for you tonight, and there you can announce it.”
At that comment, the door suddenly opened and in came the Princess.
”Brother! How could you be so unreasonable!!!'
