Chapter 215 - A letter for you (1/2)
This feels a bit unusual. Rhys is so close to her and their hands... If Pupillam saw this sight, she would infinitely reprimand her. Lyn too was uncertain, but she wanted to learn from Rhys. If she appears in the Sound Kingdom with no knowledge of their language, won't she be an embarrassment? After awhile Lyn wanted to give it a shot, so she suggested they write letters.
”Mmm....” As he scratched his head, Rhys grabbed the brush. He pondered for a while, but his pen slowly started to move. She was sure that he would begin to chat again, but instead, he actually seems to be writing.
'For somebody who was complaining earlier, he looks so focused,' Lyn thought.
He seems like he is putting a lot of thought into what he is writing. She wonders who this letter is for. Maybe he is writing something for his relatives? No, if she recalled correctly. He told her that he has no more relatives left.
Come to think of it even though they've spent so much time together. She really knows nothing about this person. Lyn did not understand how he lived his life till now, or what his friends were like. The more Lyn thought about it, the more frustrated she felt. Rhys seems to know everything about her, and he's always talking about her too.
Despite this, the two of them are very close. Lyn wonders why.
”Aren't you going to write one?”
Lyn realized that she hadn't written a single word yet. ”Of course, I thought about who I wanted to write too first. ”
Rhys responded with a chuckle. There's no way she can tell him that she was pondering about who he was writing the letter too. If Rhus were to know, then he would use it against her in some form. Lyn looked at Rhys seriously writing. Seeing him like this once in a while isn't too bad.
After writing in silence for a while, she hears Rhys curse.
”Damn, messed up.”
”We still have plenty of paper left, so you can start over.” Since she was thinking about his expression, the entire time - she ended up bringing quite the load. She brought western and eastern paper letter.
”Sorry I could I get some? I've always focussed on medical scriptures. So my writing style isn't the best.”
”There are no problems. Allen's working a lot these days, so there are loads of extra paper.”
”Better not ask him.”
”Eh?”
”It just wouldn't feel right.”
Lyn tilts her head in confusion as she questioned him. He merely chuckles again at her confused her expression. Lyn wonders what that's all about. But this is the first time she's met someone like this. Someone who focussed on writing healing spells the majority of his life, and thus only learned to write from imitation.
Even though he's supposedly a very smart, Lyn glanced over and noted the serious look on his face again although he was laughing not too long ago. She really wonders who the letter is for. He's really into it.
A sudden sharp pain appeared in her chest, and she blinked. Huh,? Why does she feel so bothered by it?
.....
She was a fast learner, and while her first letter was slow. Lyn wrote several letters to her father and eldest brother in the eastern language. The latter Lyn had to debate about. But figured that she might as well give it a shot.
”Hm, done,” Rhys placed the letter in her hands, and Lyn turned to him puzzled, ”Here's my love letter.”
