Chapter 196 - Real Reason (2/2)
”I know you probably still like him.”
”Kazuya.”
”But, I'll prove to you that I'm capable. Nobody will question our relationship then.”
What is he going to do? Is it something dangerous? Lyn lightly pulled away from his hold and saw a serious look on Kazuya's face. 'It is something dangerous, should she stop him?' Lyn was very conflicted. She's happy that he will do so much for her sake. But, she doesn't want his eyes to look like this.
No, something else seems wrong here. That dark look aside, it looks like he is in pain. His movements, when he caught her in his arms, seemed unusual.
”I want to kiss you Kazuya, can I?”
”Uhh, my cute and adorable Lyn your so bold today. But why do I get a bad feeling from this?”
She tugged on his clothing and Kazuya turned red.
”Wait, what are you doing?”
”Taking this off.”
”Wo--woah,” Kazuya exclaimed, ”Time out, I know I said it was okay and that you agreed. But wait, what is with this development.”
Lyn frowned and leaned forward the moment she did; however, she loosened his clothes. When she saw the purple wound on his shoulders, her gaze dimmed.
Kazuya sweat fell, ”I can explain.”
”You can? Really?”
”I got into a fight with some soldiers.”
”Soldiers?” her gaze hardened as she took the medkit out. Thankfully she always carried it around with her. Lyn took out the necessary bottles, wool, and bandages.
”Soldiers are weaklings. They are. They just —” Lyn cut him off with a hiss when she dabs the first glob of medication on his forehead.
He reached over up and grabbed hold of her wrist, ”Careful,” he reminds her through clenched teeth.
”Sorry!” Lyn apologized. Oh, gosh, how embarrassing. What on earth is she doing? How stupid.
Kazuya let's go of her wrist, and she pressed her fingers to his forehead again, more softly this time. Lyn kept glancing at him to confirm whether she was doing okay and he nods sharply, so Lyn continued.
”You should be careful,” Lyn quietly said.
”I am careful.”
Lyn frowned, ”Since your careful, why did you still get hurt?” she challenged, ”Be more careful, so you don't get a single wound. If you got seriously hurt then,” Lyn didn't even want to finish that sentence.
”Lyn, this wound is tiny. I've had worse before.”
”But even so, if something happens to you, I..”
What would happen to her if Kazuya dies unexpectedly during this plan of his? Lyn understood how strong he was, but that did little to dispel her unease. How can she? No matter how much Lyn racked her head, she couldn't come up with anything at all.
