Chapter 144 - Forbidden (2/2)
Right, she's younger. It's easy to forget that.
”Don't tell me you seriously forgot my age?”
Rhys scratched his face and sighed, ”I can't help it, your beautiful.”
Lyn, however, shook her head, ”You're ridiculous, you know that? How could you forget the age of the girl you claim to love?”
… Well, she makes a valid point there. Rhys let's out a deep sigh, ”I know we spoke about this before, and I completely broke my promise. But you don't make it any easier for me.”
Her getting all chummy with her fiance aside. There's also how she blatantly flaunts her love with Kazuya in front of him. No, what bothered him was when she ignored him. Maybe she doesn't intend for it to be deliberate. But, there are times when Lyn doesn't speak with him at all. Whenever that happens, Rhys doesn't know what to do.
His thoughts broke off when Lyn's hand brushed across his cheek. Rhys blinked, when did she …?
”You know, I don't hate you.”
”Yeah?”
Lyn nodded, ”I don't, your kind to me and you treat me well. You maybe a pervert, but I think that's because you love me and don't know how to convey your feelings very well. Correct?”
Rhys looked at her with wide eyes. For somebody who supposedly knew nothing about love. She spots on guessed his feelings. Her hands feel nice; he wondered how it would feel if she touched him elsewhere. How nice would it be if her fingers ran through his back, and pierced him while he held her in his arms?
Lyn must have noticed his odd looks, since she stammered, ”W--what are you thinking?”
Rhys murmured, ”Something lewd.”
”Idiot!”
Doesn't she like honest people? Why is she still getting angry at him? He really doesn't know what to do with her. Rhys pulled her into his arms, ”So, can I ask you a few things?” This is romantic right? Won't she get angry over a hug? She won't, right?
”What is it, Rhys...”
”Are you nervous?”
”If you don't quit acting like a shameless moron, I'll use my knife, and this is a good position to cause a serious injury,” Lyn said, her voice threatening.
His sweat fell when he heard the girl's words. Why is she so scary for? Damn, ”You know I've never met a woman like you before,” Rhys trailed off.
”Is that a compliment?” she seemed pleased, and Rhys hated to break it to her.
”It's more like, you're the scariest woman I've ever met before.”
At that comment, Lyn sent him a harsh glare, but he simply wrapped his arms tighter around her. Rhys didn't understand what this was, his emotions felt like they were a mess. Earlier when they were inside the tent, he didn't feel like this at all. Earlier, it felt like he was in control.
”Rhys, you feel so warm.”
Wh--what? What is she saying all of a sudden? Rhys felt the girl wrap her arms around him, ”So warm, and it's comfortable..”
Thump, thump. Rhys felt his heartbeat grow rapid as the girl leaned into him. What on earth is she doing? Who was the one who trembled when he kissed her earlier? Sure they are still hugging, but he purposely ensured that she was a slight distance from him. But now that her body is practically pressed against his. Rhys has a hard time keeping calm.
