Chapter 393 - 393: The Four Hors.e.m.e.n Of The Underworld (1/2)

Prying the balcony french doors open as quietly as Seifuku could manage, the four spies all got in sequentially and immediately hid among the shadows in different corners of the room.

Lying on the bed, alone, is an actual sleeping beauty. The four-man team had never seen Lillie Bai in person. The photos of her that spread across the internet did display her unparalleled beauty, but it never did justice to enunciate it unlike what they're seeing at this moment.

The two males in the team suddenly felt ashamed of themselves for creeping on the sleeping deity. They need to get a hold of themselves, this is not the right time to ogle—even if they might never get a chance like this again.

The ash-blonde deity is already engaged to an adonis. How dare they, two mortal men, imagine ever getting in between the heavenly couple?

Senso almost jumped in fright from his point when he saw the outrageously large, black beast sleeping at the side of the bed.

His fur was perfectly camouflaged with the darkness that it took Senso's eyes time to adjust before noticing him from the short distance.

What the actual f*ck? Intel told them this guy should be in his cave. Why the f*ck is he here?!

He signaled his comrades that there's a sudden complication and they should proceed with extreme caution.

[The literal f*cking guard dog is here! Almost scared the sh*t outta me!]

Wolves have a great sense of smell and hearing, but they should be good. Their scent should already be masked by the scent of familiar surroundings—the only good thing that resulted in the hours of futile searching in the couple's office. And it's a given that they're light on their feet.

[Don't panic, Senso, he'll smell your fear.] Kikin unhelpfully advised.

[Stop scaring him, Kikin. That's just a myth.] Seifuku chastised, before adding, [Or is it?]

A wolf of his size was already an anomaly. What more to say if he can be more and indeed smell fear?

[Quit dawdling and focus on the task! We can't afford to stay too long. Intel warned us that Lillie Bai is no ordinary either.] Shi angrily signed to his comrades.

No ordinary, indeed. The team failed to measure Lillie's capabilities. Because as soon as she heard the first rattle of the french doors, she was already wide awake.

Before they entered, she tapped Storm's head, prompting him to stay and wait for her command.

Lillie's eyes remained shut, so she hasn't yet identified who these intruders are, but can tell they're not after her life.

They haven't approached her with ill-intent, and it's pretty obvious for her that they're looking for something—if the discreet sound of someone rummaging through hers and Ethan's stuff was any indication.

One, two...there's four of them. Hm, these people are professionals. If Lillie was a different person who's more unskilled and inexperienced in these types of situation, she could say that these people are good.

Unfortunately, they gravely underestimated her and didn't take enough consideration of Storm's presence when they proceeded with their purpose.

A smart and careful spy would know when to retreat when the situation calls for it.

These people are neither.

Let's see, they seem to be familiar with the bedroom's layout and know where to start searching. Someone from the inside must've given them information.

Tsk. How annoying.

With even breaths that made her look as if she's deeply asleep, Lillie discreetly reached for the gun below her pillow while the intruders are busy.

She'll make them regret turning their backs against her.

***

Shi was close to losing his mind. He hadn't found anything interesting on his side. Not even a single piece of doc.u.ment.

Looks the couple doesn't like bringing any work-related things in their bedroom.

Sighing tiredly, he stood up. He gave a glance behind him to check if Lillie Bai and her wolf were still asleep.

Affirmative.

Since there's nothing to see in the drawers, he switches to another place to look for.

He's a feather, a soundless, light feather. Chanting this to himself, he cautiously walked at the side of the bed—the opposite one from where the wolf was lying—that held the sleeping deity.

Ah, she's so beautiful that his heart wanted to cry. Ethan Li, that lucky, lucky bastard.

Kneeling flatly on the ground, he swept the bed cover up to peer underneath it.

Bingo!
