Chapter 292 - 292: Granddaughter? (Part 2) (1/2)

At Grandmaster Yang's loud, indignant accusation, everyone wanted to go see a doctor to check if their hearing was alright.

Granddaughter? Who?

”You! How dare you touch my granddaughter? Remove yourself from her right this instant!” Steam seethed out from the skinny old man's nose as he stomped angrily towards Lillie and her group. His black changshan robe fluttering along the wind as he did.

Lillie and her group were taken aback by the accusing finger pointing at Death, who was carrying the nearly unconscious teenage girl on his back.

Puzzled by this unforeseen event, not a single intelligible words was constructed by the accused.

Lillie, ever the level-headed and calm one between Grandmaster Wei's direct disciples, stepped forward to appease her master's angry rival. ”It is not what this esteemed Grandmaster think it is,”

”And what, pray tell, is the reason why my good granddaughter is latching onto your good-for-nothing Senior Brother, unconscious—”

Grandmaster Yang's eyes widen, rage escalating when he caught sight of the black coils protruding from his granddaughter's swelling leg. A highly conspicuous snake bite explained why.

”Snake bite? Preposterous!” He fumed in disbelief. ”Do you wish to tell me that 'my' granddaughter was bitten by a Red Whiskers? A venomous snake that wouldn't even hurt a fly?!”

Grandmaster Yang instantly knew which snake the snake bite came from with just the fact that there is only one breed of venomous snakes in the forest, and recognizing the venom's reaction on the victim's skin.

”That is what her state displayed when we found her lying vulnerably an hour away from the Academy's gates.” Lillie's serene explanation shook Grandmaster Yang out of his impulsive rage.

Grandmaster Yang scoffed. His disdain for them—specifically to his rival's direct disciples—was a clear indication that he doesn't believe Lillie.

”Master Shu!” Said female Master jogged towards the Dark Doctor upon his call.

”Yes, Grandmaster?”

”Summon the proctors who witnessed the incident that befell granddaughter.” He spatted. Calmer than before, but still angry and rude nonetheless. ”We shall see if what Wei's brats are telling was true.”

”There's no need to summon us, Grandmaster Yang.” Two shadows leaped out of nowhere and appeared before them, clad in all black. They wore hoods and masks that only covered the lower part of their faces.

With their getup, they look like the assassins from Assassin's Creed [1].

”We witnessed everything. And it is, by no means, a natural cause.” A male's baritone voice came from the black clad figure in the right.

And before Grandmaster Yang explode in another fit of accusation to Lillie and her group, the assassin-like proctor in the left, interjected, ”This young lady and her co-enrollee commenced in an unplanned dual.” The voice belongs to a female this time.

”She was struck on the back of her head and was immobilized momentarily.”

”But enough for her opponent to grab a Red Whiskers and forcibly make the reptile bite this young lady's ankle.”

”When this young lady regained her mobility, she and her opponent fought again before running away.”

”We have been following her until the venom made her stumble and lay weakly on the ground.”

”It was this group who located this young lady's body. They cleaned her wound and decided to bring her here.”

”And only because of the Grand Disciples' benevolence, enrollee Yang Nina, passed the final exam.”

”This young lady's opponent will arrive soon, so keep an eye out. Naturally, they will be handled according to the Academy's law.”

The two assassin-like proctors explains, alternating between sentences. Their voices were deep, eerie, and stoic. Giving any normal person an impression that they're emotionless robots, just without the statics.
