Chapter 3 - 3: Meet The Future Husband (1/2)

”Are you ready to meet your fiancee?” The one who spoke was a beautiful woman that appears to look like she was just in her early 30s but she's actually 47 years old.

Her hair was the color of ashes, her eyes as blue as the sky. This woman is non other than Lillie Bai's mother, Agathe Crevier Bai.

”Not really.” Lillie Bai indifferently replied, busy taping her slender and delicate fingers on her laptop. Her fingers' movements were so fast that one couldn't even blink.

Her mother sighed in disappointment, rolling her eyes. ”Mon chéri, couldn't you at least show even a bit of reaction? Like anger? Resentment?” She pouted with her intentional heavy french accent.

Lillie Bai stopped typing, turning her head at her mother's direction. ”Do you really like to see me angry?”

”...” Urgh, no thank you.

The last time she saw her eldest and only daughter angry was when she was 17.

What made her angry is that the project proposal she tirelessly made for one whole month, without any proper sleep, the project that would've made her father's company the best in the world, was snatched by her 'best friend' and gave it to a rival company.

That company made millions thanks to Lillie's plan. Her ex-best friend, Yu Mei, was greedy and envious of Lillie's life and her amazing IQ. So, she betrayed Lillie, trespassed her home and her room then stole the precious files.

Lillie is not a merciful person, instead she's the most ruthless person you will ever meet. She made Yu Mei's life worst than death that she begs for Lillie Bai to kill her instead to end her suffering. But, no!

Lillie enjoys watching her suffer. She also enjoyed watching the company, that used her plans, go bankrupted after a month of fame and glory and burst into smithereens.

If only they knew how capable and vicious Lillie Bai was sooner, they would've been contented with their wealth and wouldn't dare steal from her even they were given a tiger's gut.

Now, they had tasted the 17 year old Lillie Bai's wrath.

”Oh darling, we both know we won't want 'that' happening again.” Alexander Bai, Lillie's father said as he drove the car to a five Michelin star restaurant to meet Lillie's future husband along with his family. He stared at the mirror and looked at his wonderful family. Then, his eyes turned cold as his gaze went to his only son.

”Gabriel, I hope you're on your 'best' behavior today and put your tablet back to your bag, your laptop too, Lillie. No doing anything business related on this dinner meeting.” He emphasized as he turned off the car's engine.
