”Sun Chun! Sun Chun! ” Xia Li fiercely knocked on the door, but there was still no response. She pushed open Sun Chun's door, and cleaned up the room without a speck of dust, and neatly folded the bedding. There was only a piece of paper left on the table.
Xia Li picked up the slip of paper, and there was only a simple line of words: ”Time to go, don't think about it, Sun Chun.”
”Sun Chun!” Xia Li put down the slip of paper and started to search everywhere for Sun Chun's whereabouts. However, he did not find any news even after he searched the entire courtyard. She dejectedly pushed open the door to the west wing room. Lee's was in the middle of embroidering on the bed, and when she saw Xia Li's face that looked like he was about to cry, she felt so pained that she quickly put down the needle and thread in her hands. She asked her concernedly: ”Little Li, what's wrong?”
”Mother!” Xia Li's heart ached even more. The feeling of having lost her beloved left her feeling very regretful. She threw herself into Lee's's embrace, and her tears fell.
”Sun Chun, he doesn't want me anymore. He only left a note and I'm gone!” Xia Li wiped her tears, and angrily beat the blanket.
”How could that be? He cares about you so much, so he might just be temporarily out busy with other things or having a quarrel with you. Do you want to try agreeing to the matter he proposed?” Lee's asked Xia Li softly as he used a handkerchief to wipe away the tears on her face.
”Mom, did you know this from the beginning?” After Xia Li heard what the Lee's had said, he was extremely surprised.
”That's right, last night before he left, he accidentally mentioned this matter. It seems very sad, but he still meticulously divided and prepared the medicines that Mother needs everyday, placed them one by one beside Mother. After bidding Mother farewell, he left.”
Lee's caressed Xia Li's black hair and said.
”Mother, then why did you leave her behind? How could you let him go? Did he say anything before he left?”
Hope ignited once again in Xia Li's heart. She wanted to chase Sun Chun back.

After Xia Li finished speaking, he stood up and ran out.

When she walked out of the small courtyard, she realised that it was still early, and the people inside the stronghold were still sleeping, she did not know the way. Ever since Sun Chun brought her back to recuperate, the furthest she had traveled was the forest near the small courtyard.
Now, with three forks in the road in front of her, which one should she go?
Xia Li was unable to make up his mind, and directly tore off three strips of cloth from his clothes, twisted them into different shapes, and threw them at the three forks in the road. Xia Li directly walked out from the leftmost path, but when he arrived at the end, he realized that it was a path up the mountain.
