Chapter 42 - Dont Care (1/2)

”There will be a few people coming in for trial classes. I want you to gauge from whom you would like to study and who clicks best with you.”

A few days had passed since the almost public exam Kim Su Won had. Suddenly, her situation had completely flipped. Her wing was now filled with more servants, Anna had help, Chris had dedicated maids and her meals had become rather extraordinary.

The change was for good indeed, the original Emmeline Whittemore had been treated so bad till now. At least, she had gained respect of a few people, if not all.

Meanwhile, her mother had visited her only once, immediately the next day of the exam to yell at her. She got to hear many interesting questions from her mother that day. ”What are you scheming now? ”If you take away my Ceci's or Ivan's position, I will not forgive you,” ”If you wanted to study, you should have just told me, why embarrass your elder sister?” etc. etc.

And in the end, she even told her to go die somewhere. At this point of time, Kim Su Won really had an urge to ask this mother of Emmeline if she was her real daughter at all.

But in the end, she stayed quiet. She had to, for her own peace of mind. She had learned that in her original life, her mother would eventually get tired and leave her alone once she realized that her profanities were not working on her daughter.

And it did. Audrey Lazarus just stomped her feet on the floor on being ignored and left. She could not even touch Emmeline anymore, she so wanted to beat this little runt up though.

Anyway, today, after a week, Isaac Laurent had finally visited her wing personally. She had made her new servants prepare a room which would be dedicated to her study time. She separated a room for Chris too. There were too many empty rooms here and the poor kid could use a few too.

She had made this room pretty simple, just like her original room in her previous life. Since her wing was located in the east direction, she put her table near the window, so that she could watch sunrises in peace.

She had this vision, the pure golden sunlight filtering through the window, a slow cool breeze flowing on a summer morning, the light satin curtain gliding along with it and her reading a book, probably a heart fluttering romance novel. Wasn't this something every avid reader wanted to do once in their lifetime?

Her table and chair were also quite simple, made out of wood with no decorations. How could she afford any distractions? She did not want any.

Beside the chair and the table, there were only shelves against the walls. These would later be filled with books. Of course, to entertain her teachers, she had to put a sofa set and table. She did not want to initially, but Anna convinced her otherwise.

She was not the student Kim Su Won anymore. She was the third kid of the Whittemore family and she had a reputation to maintain.

The first thing Isaac told her was that there would be several people visiting her in the coming week. They would all be experts from different walks of life, things Isaac wanted her to learn.
