Chapter 77 - He is Married?! (1/2)

Yu Huiyin had not noticed the commotion that Xie Jingyu had caused, but many within the slum saw it, their hearts quaking with fear.

No one was loitering on the streets, and no one saw Xie Jingyu move towards Grandma Mo's place.

When he arrived, he knocked on the door, and after a short while, a small, stout woman opened the door.

”We have no money,” the lady answered the moment she opened the door, but upon having a closer look at the man, she noticed that he did not seem like a seller who went from door to door.

”My wife is inside,” he said apologetically, ”I heard that she came here, so I came to pick her up.”

”You're married to Little Yin?” Grandma Mo was stunned, her eyes bulged in shock, but she quickly calmed herself down and gave him a long glare. ”Wait here,” she said before she entered the house again.

”Little Yin, some man who claims to be your husband, is here to pick you up.” The old woman did not hesitate to pass his words to her, and Xie Jingyu was worried that Yu Huiyin would make things difficult for him since she was angry at him at the moment.

”Oh, I did not expect him to pick me up so soon,” Yu Huiyin's voice sounded low and listless, she said her farewell to Grandma Mo and promised to revisit her soon.

Xie Jingyu felt as if his heart was in his throat when he saw Yu Huiyin walking towards him. She did not greet him, or say anything to him; she just walked straight past him and began moving towards the street where he had come from.

Xie Jingyu was anxious, and when Grandma Mo closed her door, he quickly grasped Yu Huiyin's wrist and dragged her into an embrace.

”I'm sorry,” he said, with an anguished voice as he could not handle her ignoring him, especially when she had finally confessed to him.

”Sorry? Why should you be sorry?” Yu Huiyin asked, her voice emotionless and low, there was not the slightest ripple within it.

”Miss Bai is beautiful and has worked for you for a long time. It is only natural that sparks will fly. I am merely a contract wife, who am I to stop you from having an affair?”

Yu Huiyin was not actually thinking that Xie Jingyu was cheating on her, but she needed him to understand that some actions were simply unforgivable.

Xie Jingyu's heart froze in fear. ”I didn't know she liked me,” he tried to explain as fast as possible. ”Dearest, I was really unaware. When you came out, I was busy thinking about you; I did not notice how close she was.”

”Dearest! I will never do anything that will let you down. I promise not to have any relationship with another woman; please forgive me this once.”

Yu Huiyin looked at Xie Jingyu. She could see the sincerity and begging within his eyes. She could also see his fears and his discomfort, and the anger in her heart got extinguished in a moment.

”Okay, but if you cheat on me, I will leave you.”
