Chapter 49 - Jealousy (1/2)
Hearing her reply, Xie Jingyu was feeling calmer and a lot better. She was right; she had not done anything wrong to him up until now, so why would she suddenly cheat on him?
But he was not comfortable with this hacker, so he wanted to speak with Hui Liqiang before letting him follow her to the meeting.
Yu Huiyin thought that Xie Jingyu had something important to talk with Hui Liqiang about, so she just nodded her head obediently, before she reclined in the chair.
She was surfing online and chatting with Xu Nanfeng, planning on where to meet. In the end, she took her phone and dialed his number, shaking her head as his answers were incredibly hard to understand.
”Hey, hey, hey,” he said as he answered the phone.
”Where do you want to meet today?” Yu Huiyin went straight to the topic and wanted to get things done as soon as possible, but Xu Nanfeng's answer was not what she had expected.
”We will meet at a restaurant that serves steak. I really want a good steak, and since you are my financier now, you better fork out the money for my meal.”
Yu Huiyin could not help but laugh and shake her head in exasperation, but she still agreed in the end.
She went online and found a traditional restaurant that had a good reputation but wasn't too expensive, and then she booked a table.
”We will be meeting at one in the afternoon,” she said to Xu Nanfeng, who had stayed in the call while she had booked the table on the place's website.
”Deal,” Xu Nanfeng sounded excited, and Yu Huiyin could not help but shake her head slightly. Xu Nanfeng was a strange person, but she felt comfortable around him.
She knew that Xu Nanfeng had no romantic interest in her, just like she only saw him as a friend, so she was happy to work with him. There would not be any emotions that would be getting in the way.
At the same time, while Yu Huiyin was happy and humming a melody in the sitting room while reading up on various things, Hui Liqiang was sweating buckets of cold sweat in the study room, not daring to look at his boss who was so angered that he seemed as if he would kill everyone in sight within a moment.
”You said that there was a group of our gang members who had taken the task of dealing with Huiyin?” he asked, his voice not cold nor warm, just flat and emotionless.
”Ye... Yes,” Hui Liqiang tried to say the word first, but due to a lump in his throat, he had to attempt twice before the words left his lips.
”And they were hired by the one called Zhao Jin, of the Zhao family?”
Clearing his throat first, Hui Liqiang managed to say ”yes,” without problems this time.
”But after they saw you, they ran away, and both this Zhao Jin and my Huiyin spoke together as if they were friends?”
