Chapter 541 - Revenge 542: Keith and Kyle (2/2)

On the way here, Anna explained Keith's sudden appearance in their lives. He is still in the process of trying to understand did they let a member of the Ricci family into their territory, especially if they still doubt on whose side Keith is really siding on.

While silently listening to everything they are saying, he is wondering why he is in the same room as Keith. As far as he knows, he is supposed to spend time with Anna. But then again, Anna did not specifically tell him that she and he will be spending time together. 'Anna did mention that she will introduce someone to him, which is Keith.'

It saddens Kyle that he might have misinterpreted the real reason why Anna asked him to come. Also, at the same time, he is somewhat happy that Anna is letting him get involved in her family matter. It makes him feel like there is no more barrier between them.

”I hate to disturb you guys, but what am I doing here?” Kyle asked. Most of the time, Kyle does not like it when he is being bothered, but with this kind of atmosphere surrounding him, he would very much appreciate it if someone could just tell him the real reason for him being here.

Marcus chuckled, seeing how impatient Kyle is. For a moment, he almost thought that it was Elijah who said those words. ”I apologize if I made you feel impatient, Kyle.” He said.

”It's not that I feel impatient. I just see no purpose of me being here, and honestly, I would rather spend my time with Anna.” Before he left the Robertson manor, his father told him that they will be doing a lot of work in the next few days. In short, he will be spending less and less time with Anna.

If there is nothing for him to do in this room other than listening to their conversation, it might be better for him to leave with Anna. That way, he will be more entertained.

”I see that you're such a dedicated boyfriend towards my granddaughter, and I would love for you two to spend more time together, but unfortunately, I will not let you do that.” Knowing that Kyle is the type of person who will cherish his granddaughter in every way, Marcus sees no problem in letting Kyle go, but unfortunately, the real purpose of this meeting is to involve Kyle and Keith.

”How come, Grandfather?” Anna asked.

”Earlier, your father and I have come into an agreement about something and have decided to have Kyle and Keith do an assignment together.” Kyle flinched when he heard that from Marcus. He did not expect to hear such news. He knows that he asked Arion to let him assist them, but working alongside a Ricci family member is not what he had expected.

”Them? Kyle and Keith working together? Is this some kind of a joke?” Anna really does hope that this is a joke her father and grandfather decided to throw at her, but if it is not, then it is the worst decision they have ever made.

Kyle and Keith did not have a good impression of each other earlier, and of course, they are not comfortable with each other. How do her father and grandfather expect Kyle and Keith to work side by side?

”It is not a joke, Anna,” Arion said in a severe tone. ”Right now, our trust in Keith is very low. I hate to admit this, but we do need people like him who have such skills. Kyle also has the same skills, but two is better than one, isn't it?”

In all honesty, everyone in this room knows the real reason behind Arion's words, this mission that he is talking about, one person is enough to complete the task, and Keith can do it all by himself. But having doubts about Keith, it is better to have someone to accompany him.

Their choice is Kyle, who is basically on the same level as Keith.

”I guess I have to put up with this if I want to have your trust.” Keith made it sound like he already accepted his situation with Kyle, but in reality, he is screaming inside his head that he does not want to work with someone who is an annoyingly possessive type of guy like Kyle.

'The air he is emitting is also annoying! He acts as if he owns everything!' Keith inwardly said.

Kyle wanted to say a word of complaint about it, but then he realizes he did ask Arion. He has no other choice but to accept his fate alongside Keith.”

Anna, on the other hand, does have something to say. ”I understand your point, Dad. But why do I feel like you're doing this for another purpose?”
