”Oh? Please do tell. How can I know if I don't like it or not if you don't tell me what it is right away?” Mary asked Alfonso.

When Alfonso was reporting to her about Johan's sudden appearance at the event, Mary admits that she was shocked to hear that, but she does not want Alfonso to know about it. The reason why she is shocked by that because Johan was not looking for a fight, but instead he was intentionally looking for Alfonso.

That kind of sign is very weird, even for Johan. Even before Johan betrayed the group, he and Alfonso were never close in the first place. If Johan would talk to someone like that, he would most likely go to Mike, but why didn't he go to him?

He and Mike were best buddies, just like Mary and Leonardo are. Mary wants to know the answer, but she got no one to ask about it. There is another option, but it is impossible to do. She can't ask Johan the answer when there is most likely a fight going to happen, and Mary can't risk having a fight with Johan with the Ricci family problem is going on.

Alfonso took a deep breath before saying anything further to Mary. ”He's wearing a symbol that indicates that he allianced with the Ricci family.” Through the screen of his computer, Alfonso is carefully observing Mary's face. He is afraid that what he just said might blow a fuse in Mary's system.

Expecting Mary's anger, Alfonso was surprised that what he feared for didn't happen. ”I see. He sure does know how to play his game. That cunning bastard.” Mary sounded so calm. So calm that he is even more afraid than earlier.

She is not showing any signs of anger, and it worries him. He would rather have her blow her fuse than seeing her so calm, it is if that the news that he just said to her is nothing. But he knows that it's just nothing, it's more than anything at all.

”You're not expressing your anger. Why?” He asked.

”Why? It's simple really.” Mary, on the other side of the screen, took a bottle of scotch out of her drawer, then she drank from it. ”He made an alliance with that good-for-nothing family of mine, and there is nothing I can do about it since it's already in the past.”

Through the screen, Alfonso can somehow feel the sadness in Mary's voice. Although the relationship between Mary and Johan are not the same between Mary and Leonardo, Mary does see Johan like her real brother.

However, she was betrayed by the person she called her brother. Alfonso saw how hurt Mary was back then. It was unbearable for Mary to the point she made herself disappear for a whole fifteen days straight.

During those days, Mary was grieving at the loss of her trust in the person she once called her brother.

”So, there is nothing you can do at all?” He asked.

”Of course, there is.” Mary puts down the scotch that she was drinking, then she said to Alfonso in a serious tone, ”I will make sure that whatever he may be planning right now, will not go at the way he wanted.”

Both Mary and Alfonso talked about Johan for a couple of minutes, then they decided to change the topic. They talked about random things, and their screen time talk lasted for hours. In such a long time, Mary and Alfonso felt a bit relaxed after their talk.

In this life of theirs, they sometimes hate it. Also, sometimes they wish they had a life that none of the violence that they have experienced never happened.

Currently, Anna, Alexandre, Kyle, and Alfonso, are having their breakfast together. And from time to time, Alfonso is glancing at Kyle. That glances that Alfonso is giving to Kyle is making Kyle thinks that there is something that his uncle wants to ask him.

”Spit it out, Uncle. Is there something that you want to know?” Kyle spoke in a grumpy tone. His morning started in a very good mood, but because of his uncle's glances, his mood somehow dropped quickly.

”So Kyle, I heard from Anna that you are taking her somewhere special today? What kind of a place is that, hmm?” Alfonso asked with a meaningful smirk on his face. Though he is asking this question, Alfonso already knows where that place is. So Alfonso is not a bit worried that his nephew will not share it with him.
