Chapter 316 - Revenge 317: Your Daughter is Here (1/2)

”I only did what your father told me.”

”What my father told you?” Anna responded in a mocking tone. ”Heh. Do you even plan on telling me?” Anna understands if her father told Kyle to not tell her the truth, but right now, she wants to know if Kyle ever thought about telling her.

”Of course! On the day we were alone together, I wanted to tell you about it! It's not just because your father told me not to, it's also because of my selfish reason. I don't want you to feel sad on that day.”

Anna deserves the truth about her father, but Kyle's selfish reason blocked that thought. He would rather see her smiling in front of him that day than to tell her the truth about and be sad in front of him.

Kyle do not regret not telling Anna the truth. More than anything, he loves to see her smiling every day. So not telling her, is a choice that will stick to his mind for the rest of his life.

”Kyle, before I saw my father, I have no recollection of his face. I don't even know exactly who he is! If you had just told me about it, of course, I will be sad, but at the same time, I really want to see him and ask him why he left.”

Tears are welling up in Anna's eyes, and her voice is shaking. The sight of her is making Kyle's heart aches for her.

Even though Anna rarely say a word about her father, it's obvious that she misses him so much. And him not telling her about the truth is hurting her emotionally. It is also obvious that Anna is questioning him if he really does care for her.

”I am truly sorry, Anna. There is nothing I can do to change my action back them, but all I can say is that I promise that I will make it right for you.” Kyle reached out to hold Anna's hands, then sincerely looks at her in the eye. ”If you want, I will help you see your father today.”

While wiping the tears on her face, Anna replied, ”Help me see my father? How?” Apart from knowing that her father is still alive, Anna has no idea where is her father currently staying at. She and her father didn't have a proper talk at that time since she is still in shocked at his sudden appearance.

”Yes. The place where he called me to meet up with him.” Kyle can see the hesitation in Anna's eyes, it seems like she and her father did not have a proper talk just yet. ”I know that this suggestion is not enough to make you not doubt about my feelings for you, but Anna, I am showing you my feelings for you, and I promise next time I will tell you.”

Kyle learned his lesson for today. The next time something big is happening that involves Anna, he will tell her about right away. From the way he sees it, Anna distance herself from people who hide things from her especially when it could affect her emotions greatly.

He has no idea what happened to her, to make her be so wary of people. It's not a bad thing to not put all of your trust in right away, but the way Anna is showing, it is making him think that something big and traumatizing had happened to her and resulted the way she is now.
