Chapter 194 - Revenge 193: Start Packing Your Things, Juan (1/2)
Juan froze on the spot, he did not expect Anna to mention the security camera footage. He specifically chose that cafe to meet up with Rebecca because there is no security camera inside, but he did notice that there is one outside the cafe.
If the twins are going to check the footage, then Marcus will see who went in and out of the cafe. He and Rebecca came out of the cafe holding each other's hands. Marcus will see that scene and there is no chance for him to escape.
Juan looks at Anna's direction and saw she's bending her head down; in his view, it looks like Anna is about to cry, but Juan knows that she is only acting like in front of her grandfather.
Despite that, it is clear to him that Anna is driving him to a corner, but there is one thing that Juan couldn't understand. Why is it that Anna is not even nervous about what Marcus will see in the footage?
In Juan's understanding, he is not the only one who will get into trouble once Marcus sees the footage; Anna will also get in trouble. Marcus will discover that his granddaughter lied to him about not having a date with Kyle.
As Juan is processing his thoughts, a realization came into his mind. 'There's no way she could have done that.'
At first, it did not make any sense because Anna knows that she was also in the footage, but thinking back from the beginning, there was no hint of nervousness in Anna's eyes. She was calm and know what she is doing. 'This must mean that she erased the part where she came in and out of the cafe with Kyle.'
Seeing that reaction from Juan, Aaron smirk, 'You think you can get away just by saying you love my sister? Hmph! Well, think again, dumbass!'
”Juan, tell us the place where you saw my sister and Kyle, so we can get this matter over with,” Aaron asked.
Juan only looks at him with hatred in his eyes. If he tells them where he saw Anna, then he will be found out too. Whether he tells them the location or not, he will still look like a person who is trying to ruin the relationship between Marcus and Anna.
”I, I...” Tongue-tied; he couldn't think properly. All his thoughts are scattered around. The excuse that he thought of earlier is now gone. It has become useless when Anna and Aaron mentioned the camera footage.
”That reaction of yours, it seems to me that you are making up stories about my granddaughter.”
Marcus is utterly disappointed at Juan; as Juan was growing up, he had supported him, teach him things that will help him succeed in life, and yet, this same person is trying to ruin his relationship with his granddaughter. 'Is this how you repay me, Juan?' Marcus asked inwardly.
”No! Why would I do that?!”
”Why would you do that? It's simple really...” Aaron started, ”It's either you've become greedy for wealth or you have some other objective in mind or maybe both, who knows what's running in that mind of yours.”
The more Aaron speak, the more it makes sense for Marcus to figure out Juan's real motive on wanting to publicly announce the engagement early.
Juan knows that if Marcus announces the engagement to the public, then cancels it afterward; it is going to be a huge headache as the press tries to find answers from them, and false rumors will start to circulate. It will surely damage the name of the Colemans if that happens, and the only way for that not happen is to not cancel the engagement.
