After lying down for a long time, Jane did not fall asleep. She picked up her mobile phone and looked at the time. It was already 11pm. Gu Chen had already come back every day at this time, so what was going on with him today?

Jane did not want to worry about Gu Chen. However, she couldn't help but think that he just found out what Gu Chen was doing right now.

As she thought of this, Jane couldn't help but take out her cell phone and call Gu Chen.

The other end of the phone beeped a few times and a magnetic voice came over.

”Hey!”

Jane immediately sensed that something was amiss. Gu Chen, is he drunk?

”You, did you drink?” Jane asked worriedly.

”Ang, how do you know I'm not drunk?” Gu Chen's tongue was hanging out as he mischievously said to Jian Chen.

”Gu Chen, what time is it already? Why are you not back yet? Why are you still drinking so much?” Jane began to shout anxiously at Gu Chen on the other end of the phone.

”What? I didn't drink too much.”

”I can smell the scent of your wine. You haven't drunk too much, hurry up and come back. Let your father know, yet another crime has been committed.” When she suddenly thought of Gu Chen's father, she wanted to advise him to come back as soon as possible.

Unexpectedly, the moment Gu Chen heard his father's name, he shouted loudly, ”Don't mention him to me. It has nothing to do with her whether I drink or not.”

”Then where are you? I'll go get you.” Jane said with a serious face.

”Pick me up? ”Who are you to me?” Gu Chen forced a smile.

Jane's heart sank when she heard him say that.

They had been together for such a long time. Even though it was a fake marriage, did they not have any feelings for each other? She was so concerned about him, but she didn't expect him to say something like that to her.

”Gu Chen, I really am not a person of yours. You have to think about it, your grandfather is still lying in the hospital. If you're not worried, then I don't have anything to worry about. You won't be able to return it, right?” With that, Jane hung up.

Jane did not think that her good intentions would be worth nothing to Gu Chen.

”Hmph, I'm so angry that even making this phone call is unnecessary. It is fortunate that I thought of you like this and am still grateful to you for helping me out today.” Jane was so angry that she sat up, thinking about how Gu Chen had just said he was drunk. She felt an indescribable pain in her heart.

What he said was right. He should never have married into the Gu Clan. If it were not for that word, he would not have had any dealings with Gu Chen.

Originally, he was going to live off of his salary. Why should he think too much? Just do your job properly and don't think about anything else.

Jane tried to comfort herself with the thought that she was no part of his family, even if you were worried about her, it would be useless.

Then, Jane's cell phone rang again.

Jane took a look and saw that it was a call from Gu Chen. She refused to answer the call

There were so many young mistresses outside who were thinking about Gu Chen; how could he be counted as someone with such a high status?

Thinking of this, Jane gave a cold laugh and turned off the bedside lamp, forcing herself to sleep.

After an unknown period of time, just as Jane was about to fall asleep in a trance, she suddenly heard Gu Chen's drunken voice.

”Jane Chu …” Gu Chen untied his tie while shouting her name.

Gu Chen called out a few times, but Jane did not respond. He staggered back to her room.

Jane, who had been so preoccupied with her anger, had forgotten to lock the door.

Jane Chu sat up abruptly and turned on the bedside lamp. Gu Chen entered the room in a daze, landing in Jane's arms.

”Gu Chen!” Get up! ” Jane was frightened and wanted to take Gu Chen away.

However, Gu Chen was like a New Year's cake, hugging Jane Chu. No matter how she struggled, Gu Chen refused to let go.

”I'm not getting up. I didn't even finish speaking. Why did you hang up?” Gu Chen was drunk on his wine, his tongue hanging out.

Hearing Gu Chen's voice, Jane couldn't help but want to laugh.

”What else do you want to say?”

”Hey, why would I let you pick me up? You're my wife at night.” Gu Chen smiled as he looked at Jane Chu, then he buried his head in her shoulder.

Jane only felt a tingling sensation, like an electric current coursing through her body.

”Get up.” As he spoke, he pushed Gu Chen to the side.

Looking at Gu Chen's dazed expression, plus the words he had just said, a wave of warmth rose up in her heart.

”Is what you said true?” Jane was staring at Gu Chen, who was half drunk and half awake. She couldn't believe it.

”Of, of course, when did I ever lie?” Gu Chen smiled faintly, then placed his head back on Jian Chen's leg.

As Jane listened, her heart warmed, and the air was gone without a trace.
