Finally, they made it to the police station. After the thief was taken away by the police, Jane took Gu Chen to the hospital.

Gu Chen, who was sitting in the car, leaned his head on Jian Chen's shoulder. Gu Chen's face had turned pale; it was obvious that he had lost a lot of blood.

Jane had been telling the driver to hurry up, but the road was too blocked.

By the time they arrived at the hospital, Gu Chen was already in a semi-conscious state.

The hospital staff hastily pulled a stretcher and carried Gu Chen inside.

Although this was only a simple wound, it was too deep and caused too much blood loss.

Jane was anxiously waiting outside the door, hoping that the injury was only a superficial wound and that it would not hurt her muscles and bones.

Finally, a doctor came out.

Jane rushed forward and grabbed the doctor's arm, asking, ”Doctor, how is the patient's wound, if there is any danger, or if there is any sequelae.”

The doctor shook his head and said with a serious face, ”You worry too much. The patient only recovered from his wound and is lucky that even though the wound is deep, it didn't injure his bones and tendons. We've already sewed it up and stopped bleeding.

Jane finally let out a sigh of relief. Hearing the doctor say this, she finally let go of the heavy burden in her heart.

After that, Gu Chen was pushed to the Inpatient Department by the doctor, with Jane following by his side at the company's side.

Although Gu Chen was in a coma right now, he had heard from the doctor that there was no danger to his life and that there wouldn't be any side effects. This made Jian Chen feel at ease.

Jane who had been sitting beside Gu Chen knew that he had awoken.

”You're awake.” Jane said softly as she gently looked at him.

Gu Chen nodded his head, then smiled and said softly, ”I told you I was fine.”

”Don't try to show off, do you know how serious your wound is? You even fought with the thief for so long.” Jane began to complain about Gu Chen, complaining that he wouldn't listen to her. She had to wait for the police to come and take the thief away.

Gu Chen watched Jane Chu's concern for him, not knowing why, but he felt a tinge of excitement in his heart.

”It's fine. It's best not to let my family know about this. I'm afraid they will make a fuss again. Perhaps it can be blamed on you. ” Gu Chen suddenly put on a serious face.

”Mm, okay, but can you hide your injuries?” Jane Chu looked worriedly at Gu Chen, her brows furrowed as she spoke.

”No matter what, I can't let my mom know. You know her temper. If she knew, she would make a fuss out of nothing.”

”Alright, I got it. Then, I'll stay here for a few days to take care of it.” As he spoke, he looked at Gu Chen's injuries with concern.

Although the wound had been bandaged tightly, Jane still felt uncomfortable after seeing it for the first time.

”What happened? Are you worried about me?” Gu Chen said doubtfully to Jian Chen.

”Aren't you talking nonsense? You were injured in order to save me. If I didn't run into the alley and get caught by that thief, you wouldn't have been cut by his dagger.” Jane looked at Gu Chen with guilt in her eyes.

Gu Chen smiled, then said softly, ”This has nothing to do with you, so you don't have to blame yourself. Even if he didn't force you, I would've still snatched the bag back. If word got out that the dignified CEO's wife had been robbed, wouldn't that be very shameful?”

”You don't need to comfort me. This was my fault in the first place. In any case, since I was young, I have never done anything that would satisfy others.” She lowered her head, because she was not very confident in this aspect.

”There's no one right or wrong, only how to do things. If you keep thinking this way, then in the future, you won't be happy at all. Think about things a bit simpler and you'll find that life is actually pretty good.” Gu Chen smiled as he spoke to Jian Chu.

”Thank you, Gu Chen. I always thought you were a domineering CEO. I didn't expect you to have such a side to you.”

”You've said this many times, my attitude is different in front of everyone, so you don't have to care about it. Alright, since you're feeling so guilty, go buy me a meal. It's been so long, you're already hungry.” Gu Chen said with a smile.

After taking a moment to collect his emotions, Jane said, ”Alright then. Have a good rest. I'll go buy you something to eat.”

As he spoke, Jane left the ward. Watching her leaving, Gu Chen suddenly rubbed his wound, grimacing in pain.

”Damn, it really hurts …” Gu Chen muttered to himself, enduring the pain.

Gu Chen looked at the time. It was already two in the afternoon. Perhaps he should call someone to investigate. No matter where he and Jane went, they would encounter unnecessary trouble.

The woman he had met at dinner, the woman he had met at the party, and the thief he had met today.

He could have left, but he insisted on hurting himself.

The two women in front were both targeting Jane, and the thief they met today was obviously targeting them. Could it be that they were two groups of people?
