As soon as they entered the room, Gu Chen received them and led them to a VIP box that Jane had never entered before. Gu Chen simply glanced at her and ordered a few dishes, then passed the menu to her.
The menu was almost entirely in Spanish. Strangely, Gu Chen did not care whether or not Jane knew this small language, even though Jane did. She had studied it in Spain when she was in university.
Jane also ordered a few dishes from Gu Chen. The Spanish dishes were a little unique. She had always known when to stop and when to stop.
He had noticed her thoughts, of course, but he did not say a word. He poured her a glass of red wine, and when she first saw him shaking the fiery liquid in his high school cup, the tranquil light in the box became more solemn and reserved against the light of his black suit. ”I was studying design at the University of California, Spain. Mr. Gu had a lecture at our school.”
Jane had thought of him only a few days after that night. She had thought he looked familiar because the magazines were full of his face, but one night she had suddenly thought of the scream of a crazy woman from college. It was all because of his arrival, and the memories seemed distant and beautiful under the pressure of the present, and she had really not thought about them for a long time.
