Grandma was a free soul and followed her husband everywhere, partly to get rid of the void her son created when he left and she was actually such a person, to begin with.

Though they took it upon themselves to raise Meilin, it was undoubtedly true that she was raised as an heir and not a child, thinking about it, as their son had left them, at an unconscious level they wanted her to take up his place.

They could never treat her, her age and though they regretted it, they didn't know what to change nor could they.

Probably, the best thing Qin Mo did while bringing her up was definitely, bringing Xuan to the family!

Her birthday came about six months after his arrival during autumn.

It was close to midnight...

Meilin, who didn't have any expectations for the day as usual and treated it the same as any other day, was sleeping soundly with a smile on her lips, it seems she was having a good dream.

Xuan stealthily entered her room with light foot-steps.

When saw her sleeping like that she didn't want to wake her up but this day was too special for him, so he decided to go with his initial plan.

He sat beside her and softly took her head into his lap, this has been done many a time in this past half-of-the-year by the both of them....it seems the both of them slept a little better while on the other's lap.

Anyway, since it has become a habit, Meilin who was still sleeping felt a heat source beside her and sub-consciously snuggled closer as her smile deepened...she softly mumbled a 'Xu...an'.

Her mumble resulted in a soft arc forming on Xuan's lips.

He softly started caressing her soft hairs as he started singing in a soft but cheerful voice...

”Happy Birthday to you....Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday, xiao Linlin...Happy Birthday to you.”
