Chapter 53 - 53. His fears... (1/2)
Though the soft trembling of his body remained, he was still comforted.
Without a start, he directly pulled her into a hug and nuzzled his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her comforting scent, trying to forget the deepest and darkest secrets of himself from both her and him, he didn't want to go back there, never.
It seems today they won't be able to go back.
She can't go back as she had to take care of him and his needs, so when he dozed off with her in his arms, she just gave a doting smile to the sleepy-head and helped him adjust his posture and put him into the bed. It was a good thing that she had insisted him to change into comfortable loungewear before dinner, it won't be uncomfortable for him to sleep just like that.
After she made sure that his breathing became even, she slowly got up and went to his closet to get a change of clothes for herself, she deliberated for a second before selecting a casual shirt and a trouser in the same color and went to the washroom to change into it.
She wanted to bring some of her clothes the next time, but since they will live together, she threw the thought to the back of her head, a decision she will both be thankful and regret in the future.
After she put on the pair of clothes, which was without any suspense, HUGE for her, she came out of the bathroom only to see a startled ZiXuan on the bed.
His eyes reflected his fear, desperation and a faint murderous intent, he was acting like a wounded beast....
It seems because of the darkness, or maybe it was due to the high alert state he was in ...he didn't see her clearly, but still, in a hoarse voice called out when a felt movement from his side, that is, from the direction of the washroom, ”Linlin?”
Qin Meilin felt like her heart was stabbed by a blade, hearing that voice. The caution, the fear, the alienation and loneliness he had caused his voice to slightly tremble and was fully reflected in his tone.
She didn't like him like this...
He should always be in the light...darkness didn't fit him well.
She lost her usual composure and dashed to his side and hugged him tight not fearing him harming her because of his sense of security, she felt him stiffen or a second but then he relaxed...
”Linlin?”
”Du buqi..Du buqi...It's alright..I'm here...go to sleep...I'm here”, she whispered, as if, in silent prayer.
”hmm”, getting back her comfort, he let his guards down and went back to sleep.
It was already midnight when he finally fell asleep and it was time for her to sleep too when a 'PING' reverberated in the silent room, giving rise to an eerie silence after that.
Qin Meilin was beside him as he snuggled into the pillow and appeared to be in deep sleep with an arm around her.
She softly ruffled his hairs to give him some comfort when her phone 'DINGED', so that, he didn't wake up due to the disturbances.
It was a message notification and had maximum priority hence a blaring sound came out of it, she saw the message and a cold glint passed through her eyes.
'The fox finally showed it's tail...heh'
