After he forced her to come inside her room, he directly took her into his arms and tightened his hold around her.

Even he himself was not aware why she always had this kind of strong reaction when he got ill or was injured but he still felt somewhat smug about it. It proved that she was too much in love with him and was unable to withstand anything happening to him.

He wanted to relish the fact and the moment.

He knew she was overreacting but he let her be. She was strong enough to get through it and all she needed was him by her side to get back.

Talk about being too narcissistic but it was the truth.

As expected Meilin calmed down, a deep fear was rooted inside her that he can't get hurt or he might leave her forever, even she didn't know the reason, everything was covered by fog when she wanted to explore the reason behind it, but yes, she had a strong heart.

As long as she stayed by his side and took care of him, he will be alright.

She regretted letting him stay by himself for five years because of her own insecurities, she can't let it happen again.

Her eyes regained their usual twinkling as he held her in his warm embrace.

After about 10 minutes she regained her cold indifference, the facade she created for others but her tone was warm only reserved for him,

”Xuanxuan, I think we should stay together. Leaving you by yourself will only take years of my life while I still keep worrying about you.”, she easily dropped a bomb.

When he was slowly climbing the stairs to get heavenly bliss with her in his arms, he was suddenly given a direct ticket to the said place!!

Even our black panther who was treated as a Persian cat by our Meilin was shocked to hear this.

He had tried many ways to make her stay with him when she came back, everything except asking her outright.

He always had regretted it, but now that she did the same, he was shocked beyond words, his hold tightened further, his heartbeat heightened and a small fire was ignited in his ink-black eyes...

Well, actually he was even a bit irritated.

If he knew a simple eye infection could let them cohabitate, he wouldn't have tried to act like a strict man and would have continued with his abnormal habit of being a night owl and a workaholic man in the day like he did in the past few years to cope with her disappearance ba!

Tch..talk about a waste, he had thrown the huge rock he was trying to lift on his own legs.

Not getting an answer, she tensed a bit.

Maybe he didn't like it but when she heard the drumming heartbeats, she slightly looked up only to see a Xuanxuan with a warm smile.

”It took you a while to say it...I tried so hard to get you to stay with me when you came back but you bought this place and left...I thought Meilin doesn't love me anymore.” Somehow near the end of it, he sounded like an abandoned puppy.

”Xuanxuan you know that's not true--”

”Then do you love me?”, he immediately cut her off.

His eyes held pure innocence and curiosity, she was a bit taken aback.

She froze for a second but the expectation from his eyes made her heart tremble, she softly spoke,

”Of course I still love you”..she gave him a slight smile.

Only she knew how much it pained her, she lowered her head slightly to control the turbulent emotions inside her from spilling out, he was better of not knowing it,

'I love you more than ever. Even I'm unable to control it so, I can't let you burden it...so I'll stay by your side and keep it in check because you are the key both to open the lock and close it”, this part was left untold.
