After two weeks being hospitalized, he decided to return to the office. The doctors and his mother were really againts it but Xi Jian didn't care. Feeling boredom in the same room for days killed him. In addition, he needs time to calmed himself and a heap of work to avoid the thoughts that start haunting him.

During his rehabilitation period, Xi Jian realized that his feelings for his bestfriend's sister were feelings that he had never felt before. He thought he was getting crazy. He did not let Ling Yue disappear from his sight even for a bit.

He provided all her necessities so that Ling Yue had no reason to go anywhere. He even told his bodyguard to check the bathroom if Ling Yue did not return in fifteen minutes. Even if Ling Yue just sat with him without saying anything, Xi Jian felt his heart at the fullest.

He only let Ling Yue out of his room when his people told him that a family member would be coming. Xi Jian didn't want them to meet Ling Yue and make her uncomfortable.

Xi Jian even developed a habit of touching Ling Yue. He did it openly and secretly. Sometimes he only asked to hold her hand, sometimes he hugged her for slept and sometimes he stole a kiss when she not aware. Xi Jian really became a pathetic man who couldn't sleep if he didn't see her, and didn't sleep well if Ling Yue wasn't beside him. Xi Jian was afraid of himself, who could not be separated from that little figure. So Xi Jian chose to return to work and limit himself to interacting with Ling Yue again. He wouldn't break his own promise.

He couldn't.

Xi Jian was sure he did not love Ling Yue. He was obsessed with her because Ling Yue was the only woman beside him.

Yes, surely only because of that.

He might not love her.

He could not.

”Mr. Xi, you have a meeting in five minutes. The people from the construction company have arrived.” Bai Xu said softly. The boss was a little strange after returning from the hospital. Xi Jian glanced at him and got up from his seat. He then walked towards the meeting room and Bai Xu trailed behind.
