Chapter 71 - Just A Dream (2/2)

”Sorry I didn't mean to—” without realizing it, the word came out of his mouth which was immediately cut off by Ling Yue. Ling Yue cleared her throat and faced Xi Jian, put on her glasses and said: ”You don't need to apologize, I should be the one apologizing. I thought you were dreaming -- I mean I was dreaming so ...” her voice sounded smaller and a red tinge colored her cheeks. ”If you don't mind, I'll excuse myself.”

Ling Yue tried to face her stupidity coolly, she almost ran towards the door. After Xi Jian heard her say that, he blocked Ling Yue's way.

”Listen, I'm really sorry--”

”No. No. You don't need to! I told you it was just a dream, I thought I was kissing someone else.” She spoke nonsense amid her panic.

Xi Jian somehow felt anger start to pop up in his heart. ”What did you say? Someone? Who?”

A soft knock sounded behind the door. Shattering his piercing gaze at her. He turned his head. Ling Yue did not waste this opportunity to get out of there.

”Oh, good morning Mr. Bai.” Ling Yue greeted Bai Xu who was gaping behind the door. with an innocent smile she slipped in front of Bai Xu and rushed to her hotel room. Bai Xu tried to throw away all his suspicions and face Xi Jian. He informed all of Xi Jian's schedule today. He heard him but didn't listen.

'What did she say?! Someone?'

”Mister Xi?”

Xi Jian just mumbled and told him to get out. He showered longer than usual. He needs to clear his mind and calm things down there. He slowly banging his head against the bathroom wall, with the shower water still flowing overhead.

'She's your best-friend's sister!'

”Damn it! Damn it!”

He definitely would broke his promise with Ling Feng soon.
